I first only was able to get the engine up about an inch, then realized this no-go issue and had to relocate my jack. Also, not having a lift makes the install a bit of a puzzle getting the pipe routed in, but it does go with a bit of time taken. I've also got the Helmholtz resonator, so that makes it a bit more cumbersome.
Does the engine really need to be lifted/jacked up or would jacking up the car be enough?

Even if the car is on a lift, it won't clear "snaking it in" with the cylinder heads in the way. The engine HAS to be jacked up a few inches. It's really easy to do since the engine doesn't weigh much. There are three mounting points for the engine and transmission...
One at the center back edge of the transmission.
One on each side of the engine just behind the cylinders basically.
Just remove the nut from the passenger's side mount, stud stays in place in the motor mount. The other two will have plenty of play since they're rubber mounts. I placed a flat 1" thick board just under the transmission right behind the frame crossmember and fit my jack's piston up in there between the frame and I believe sway bar, and lifted from there.

Here's a short night video of a first gear relatively easy acceleration with the full header back system...

Another video of the full system...love the sound! What doesn't come out in these videos usually, particularly mine, is the low frequency that's produced from the exhaust. It really does have a nice deep burble to it, not a high pitched rasp like many in-line 4 bangers.

so when you jacked up the motor, you just removed the passenger side nut from the motor mount and didn't touch the other two?

From my conversations with Jason, that's the only one needed to be touched, the other two are left alone.

When I installed mine, I only dealt with the one on the passenger side. Lifted it an inch or two. Not as big a deal as it sounds once you are under there and see what is going on.
