The letter (which might be a ruse for all we know) states, in an official publication, with a searchable document number, on letterhead, from a company official, that it was available, starting in 2013, in three ways: A) ordered that way (if you wanted to wait somewhere between four and who-knows-how-many weeks for it); B) as dealer-installed (because why make an order or hope for allocation when you can move a car already on the lot for about 2 hours of tech labor, at the same price as factory MSRP); or C) thanks to individual PPO codes, any combination of the two. As long as scenario "A" was possible (whether anybody knew about it or not), B and C fly. Now, I don't think people are necessarily reading it liberally. It's English, primarily technical language, and if you follow the commas, that's what it says. What early adopters might be guilty of is making the option conversions prior to the SEB making an official ruling. That represents some amount of risk, and that's a choice for them to make. They're not wrong to try it. Documentation (whether you believe it or not) that supports their claim does in fact exist. On the flip side, others wouldn't be wrong to protest it if they wanted to (by calling BS). As said before, if any of you see it differently, write a letter with your opinions and rationales behind them. The SEB doesn't care where the letter comes from, so long as it's from a paid-up member. I'm inclined to wait for it to be addressed in a Fastrack/Tech Bulletin, but I'm also not time-crunched for a national event in two days. I'll be damned if I'm knuckle-busting outdoors while snow is on the ground and snow tires are still on the car, especially since I think there's at least a chance the SEB could rule unfavorably.

So if the FRS gets all these parts from the RS, then can my BRZ get the front lip from the Series. Blue?
I just like the way it looks. If I can't beat the TRD FRS's, I can at least look cool! Lol |

Question!
Under the PIO rules, does this mean we're dealing only with the US-bound cars? As a Canadian, is this all irrelevant? (Even though we're piggybacking on the SCCA rules)

I asked if codes for the short shifter and TRD wheels also existed. He couldn't find them while I had patience to wait, but said he'd look more and call me if he found them. |

I've seen the Scion ASG. They are PPO for all model years.
If/when I get protested this weekend, they will be able to see unequivocally that the parts on my car were available as port installed options. You guys can argue all you like, what ultimately matters is "will it pass a protest committee?" The epic rules stickler in my region thinks we're good to go. You guys can feel free to argue all you want, I will be out pushing the limit. I feel for the BRZ guys, I really do. I'm a competitor and I'm installing the parts because I'm here to win. Hopefully the SEB can find a solution for next year that keeps both cars competitive, and when that time comes I will be writing my letter in support. |

Cat back is already legal, did he find codes for the wheels? 18x7.5 ppo would allow us to run 17x7.5

Has anyone contacted Doug Gill at the national office to get his input of the legality of these parts? It's just a quick email, and it would go a long way toward clarifying this whole thing, not to mention saving people time and money if it is ruled illegal for CS.
