I know the answer, but I'm not supposed to say

Now, blind speculation!

Is it a heat soaked Stage 1 Works turbo vs a 1991 Geo Metro?

Don't really see any reason to argue in favor of EL header anymore...

Hey new to the forum world. Was a big user of Tacomaworld.com with my pickup. Have a rather highly modified Tacoma in an off road sense. I picked up a FRS about a year ago. Just installed a Jackson Racing Supercharger on my FRS. I love it in every way but I want moar sound out of it. Not douche canoe honda sound out of it but real you're running 280HP in this little jap trap sound. Something lighter than stock but still dual exhaust. I like the Q300 but it's heavy. I'm in my 30's and not looking for showy. My car is a total sleep minus the huge 9 inch track wheels lol... Any advice? Looking for a deep but natural sound. Light is the best. still stock headers back.

Maybe try the TRD exhaust? Supposedly it's manufactured by Borla, so it should be similar to the borla exhaust as well.

If you're still using the stock headers and everything else you can get a lighter, louder exhaust. I'd say come to the Perrin garage sale and get one of their exhaust for cheap. The 3" will be a little deeper sounding but also a little louder. It's on the 15th and there's be a lot of other cars there, mostly FR-S/BRZs. They are pretty light. If you want really light and still have a muffler then the Tomei single exit is decent.

What @stockysnail said. Plus the Perrin modular system gives the option of having resonator or not. I ran my 2½" both ways. The unresonated was very deep, saved ~20+ lbs. over stock, $250 or so cheaper but was pretty loud.

i would absolutely recommend the perrin. its not a huge weight savings over stock but does maintain a nice mature sound. I've had both the 2.5 inch resonated in a fully catless setup and a 3 inch with a high flow cat.

here's a couple examples

tomei UEL, perrin op, ark catless resonated front pipe, perrin resonated 2.5 inch cbe its takes a bit for my car to come back around, got stuck behind a slow car making the loop.

and now with with perrin catted 3 inch fp and 3inch resonated cbe
