my friend tracks his r35, and from what he says, running slicks puts alot of extra strain on the drive train, and leads to premature failures, so alot of people stick to street tires. he sticks with the OEM dunlops and puts down very competitive times. those cars are just amazing.

yeah, he upgraded to CCM rotors, and went through his first set of pads in about 90 mins of track time. we're hoping that the pads were just not track friendly. he got em though a hook up right before his leg in a 7 hour endurance race, and didnt know the specs of the pads.

Any Tips for Dialing in a suspension for maximum grip?
I've tried testing a turn local to me (probably a 30* turn) and cant seem to decide on a proper street/track setting. FYI i have dampening adjustable BC BR coilovers and was testing with 245/45/17 handcook ventus v12evo tires at the OEM alignment. thanks in advance.

based on my limited knowledge i realize that i can set the dampening screw from soft to hard and this effects my ride comfort. i realize that softening the front or stiffening the back should reduce understeer. what i am asking is a basic understanding on what i should prioritize on adjusting (front/back). im merely looking for a direction in which to start the tuning process. The questions circling me now are if i can keep the front semi soft but suppliment it with a strut brace to prevent body flex/roll or should i focus on leaving them stiff and adjusting camber/toe or are any of these adjustments only going to make a minor difference with my current setup? again, thanks for any guidance.

That seems a bit exaggerated considering they will do OLOA (One Lap of America) on one set of street tires. And that equals out to roughly 4 full track sessions and ~2500-3000 street miles. |

I'm going to guess that the OneLap guys have better suspension setup/alignment than the person that runs thru as set of tires in 2 sessions in GTR. I'd say anyone going through a set of tires in two sessions isn't driving the car optimally nor is the car setup optimally.

yeah our cars are pretty easy on tires compared to an r35. btw, what does a track session in the states consist of, time on track wise? tracks over here have 20-40 minute sessions and you just pay per session, so a track day could be 20 mins on tsukba, or a couple hours.
