So, half an hour into my 2 hour commute today my passenger airbag alarm starts to go off. Look over and no cell phone, GPS or any of the other crap I usually throw there is present just my snow brush. Move the snowbrush two inches and the alarm goes off. Apparently the bristles were just damp enough and it was in the perfect position to trigger the sensor. Scared the crap outta me when it went off though.

Mine went off the other day just from having a braided USB cable laying on the seat. It wasn't charging anything, but it was plugged in. It's a 6ft cable I keep plugged into the receptacle in the glove box and pull it out when I (or a passenger) need to charge something (the glove box door will close with it out).

It really doesn't take much to set it off. I've also had it happen from a potato chip bag.

I have had it go off with a few different cords, electronics and bags of milk (yes I said bags) and usually pay close attention to what I put there. I was just taken by surprise by the brush because it has spent months (over a year in total) in that spot and this was a first.

ZZZZZZZZZ .............huh ........

Oh, hi ....... I was just resting my eyes.

Yes, retirement is nice. However, I do keep my brokers license active, just in case I get bored or we run low on money.

Bored? No. I've found that "jobs" expand in direct proportion to the time that can be allowed for them. For example, washing my car used to be a 1/2 hour job before we took a drive. Now, it's wash the car one day ..... take the drive the next day ......

Grandkids ..... oh yes, it's really cool to have the time to actually watch them grow up and mature. As compared to having our 3 kids and being rushed to provide a living for the family.

OK, time for a school run, do some errands, fix lunch for us, take a nap, make the afternoon school run, prepare supper, watch the news, check the forum ...... then "living the dream" starts all over again ......

That butt detector is easily fooled. I remember Dadhawk schooling me when I first noticed it two years ago.

Ya but a damp brush? I thought I had run the gambit of things that could set it off and it came up with a brand new one.

It's really dumb. I can see the decision to err on the side of oversensitivity. I wonder if other platforms of the same vintage have the same issues; not enough to google, though. That would just be sad.
