Wont the D1 and fomula drift crews spend endless amounts of money to push the limits of the motor used??, or do a swap out if they cant get the power they want?? which will give us a good platform to follow?... My point is ill be looking into what there doing when it comes time to put in some serious $$$ into my FT-86...

Personally ill be working with whatever toyota give us.... A swap out wont be an option for me...... But getting a huge snail to work on it will.....

They'll probably take the path well traveled and drop in an EJ257. We'll see a 600+ rwhp FR-S within a year of it's release, probably sooner.

Well i will be watching very closely..... My biggest issue is going to be trying to find someone in Perth up to the task of putting together my FT-86..... Not many good tuners here let alone decent tuners that work with flat4 motors all day everyday.. Its hard enough finding decent RB/SR/JZ tuners... U only find good LSx tuners in Western Australia.... Its certainly gonna be a headache for me........

I was under the impression that Perth was quite the hotbed of wrx/sti tuning.

I only know 3 places mentioned... The problem is they just do typical tunes but no big jobs on flat motors.... For example Xspeed are demons when it comes to tuning and working on nissans but they do charge accordingly and im not familar with any huge output WRX/STI's getting around from them or other places in Perth....
But i have not done enough searching to be sure.... which i will.... And i do appreciate the link Old Greg cause i didnt know those other tuners.... I know over east theres some awesome work being performed and u hear about it at the local car shows but yeah i dont hear much in the way of freak flat 4's here in Perth... I am not on any Subaru forums though....

Edit: Even on the site/link provided the boys agree for serious TURBO work with tune its better to look East.... That sux, thought i was onto a good one there...

prob D1 & FD will do swap. It's not that they cannot get HP they want, but cuz they don't have enough aftermarket parts for FB engine currently. Look at Wedsport D1 IS250 they put 2J engine. Why? Prob cuz they had more parts to make the HP they want. Another example is 350z, a lot of D1 was swapping RB engine in there
