I just completed my paperwork with Heuberger today. The car arrived last Wednesday, we discussed the terms of purchase (APR, tax, warranty etc.) over the phone so that they can finalize the paperwork. The Finance lady mailed me the documents on the next day and I received all the documents the day after (today). Everything was in place as discussed. I reviewed everything to make sure and then signed the docs. Mailed it back to them by overnight FedEx. They provided a prepaid envelope for sending the documents back too.

My sales guy said that the truck for Bay Area delivery usually goes out every Monday and it usually takes about 2-3 days. I missed today's pickup so it probably won't ship from the dealership until next Monday. Hoping for a miracle that would get the car shipped out before next Monday.

I'll say that any single experience, either good or bad, does not define an organization. A pattern of behavior, however, can.

I probably got lucky in not checking that list...

I will say that I got pushed into a "quality assurance package" of add ons, in theory added to all of their new cars, which tacked on a grand over (tint, brake light flashy chip, scratch guard film, lifetime oil changes, bla bla...)but I felt I was at least getting something for the "over," and still saved at least 2K over a local buy...

I've learned a lot on this forum since buying my BRZ...

hmmm, how does that lifetime oil changes work? Good at every dealer, or do you have to take it back to LV every 7500 miles? Maybe you can have them just mail you the OEM synthetic oil, that's still worth a pretty penny.

Like you said, at least you got something in return, vs. paying markup in CA and getting nada for it. Everyone's got to make their own decision about what is worth paying for, and what is not.

are you paying CA taxes and license fees through Heubergers finance department? Was there any pressure on the warranty/add ons?

Yes, I am paying CA tax and license through them. There was no pressure 'per se' to buy any warranty or add-ons but I chose to buy the extended warranty. Although there is not much added value to it as everyone points out on the forum, I mainly bought because of two reasons -
1. It lowered my APR by almost half a point. So over 5 years I would be paying only about $1000 extra for the extended warranty.
2. This is my first new car plus a new vehicle from Subaru in general, so I decided to pay for my peace of mind. However I wish I never have to use it at all.

How's your deal going? You done with the paperwork and all?

do you ahve any information on the extended warranty? is it through subaru? i was planning on getting one from penfed route66 for $1295 (no deductible and coverage for 5 years/100k miles).

i haven't checked with my sales person yet, i'm drafting an email later tonight though. but as far as i know, my car is still set for delivery to them on 3/21.

Yeah, the oil changes on paper say LV only, so despite any reassuring words to the contrary I kinda kissed that one away when I bought. And yes, I'm a very happy driver.

I'm sure it's been noted somewhere here before, but I'm amazed at what even slightly used BRZ's are going for here in the Bay Area! 5000K miles on a Premium stick and it's still over invoice! I assume that resale value might help me out when the STi comes out for 2014+/-?!

I assume things will eventually calm down

ah, looks like Heuberger BRZs dont' ship with Michelin tires as told by my sales person. Hopefully they'll be something other than the Bridgestone all seasons. What tires did everyone else get?

I wonder as well, my CO car came with Michelins, but from a different dealer though. Should be cool when your car gets here, hopefully you can join our Tuesday Meets and we will have 2 SSM BRZ's.

How big of a difference does it make? Just curious.

The warranty is through Subaru which gives me a little more comfort than having some third party backed warranty.

being in CA, i would not want the all seasons since i'm assuming they're made for snow as well. i don't know, i might be getting new wheels and another tire anyways, but resale value is always in mind

my sales person updated me that their showroom floor does have michelins but she won't know until my car arrives in 2 days!

regarding the warranty, is it only $1000? how many yhears/miles does it cover? deductible? did they give you a website or brochure with more details? since it's through subaru, it would make me choose it over any other third party.

Just look up Subaru Gold Plus for more details on the warranty. It covers most stuff (minus normal wear & tear) plus roadside assistance, rental reimbursment etc.
