And if you plan on buying it "Right-off-the-bat" which means when it releases or the first release. You'll have to contact Frank and give him a heads up that you're a buyer. He'll ask if you want to put a deposit ($500) which will give you the opportunity to pick out colors and accessories for your car. He'll also give you a call as soon as the car comes to the lot.
Great! Thanks for putting this together. I'll PM you my name and other info.

Just to clarify everything.

If you want to buy within the following months of the release its still considered "Right-off-the-bat."

The buyer list is getting long....any idea if there is a potential cut off for how many they can sell "off the bat" ?

No cut-off.

Just gotta factor in that people might flake out and those buying in the following months.

Its pretty much set depending on the order of pre-orders I believe.

I'm basically in a holding pattern until Subaru USA confirms pricing & options. I'm becoming more skeptical though, because analyzing the pattern of the Toyota/Subaru propaganda already, it's very clearly designed to butter people up. This tactic is never used in conjunction with good pricing; it's tactic used to wear people out so then when they see a high sticker price, they can rationalize it away with the whole "but it's awesome" thinking.

Anyways, if the BRZ is more than $26k, I'm ditching for a WRX. Initially I thought pricing would be revealed by now. Plus, what kind of marketing f-ck ups withhold pricing until < 4 months before availability???

Toyota/Subaru, shame on you both!

I'm kind of in the same boat as well, but if you look at the things Toyobaru has promised about this car, they've fulfilled them all.

I think it's strange they won't reveal the price and wouldn't understand if they price it over $24k. With all the marketing that's been shown for the FRS here in the states. It seems like most people would jump at that one first, because Subaru hasn't been as "hey, look what we got" as Scion.

Only time will tell.

I sorta look at things a bit differently. For a car with such a following before launch and a car that's supposedly going on sale in May of '12 there isn't much, if at all, marketing for this car. I know some see this as a bad thing, but I think it's them trying to keep the cost of this car down. Why market a relatively low volume car, with a strong following, if you don't have to and can pass on the savings to the customers. :happy0180:

Same, but I'll still help those who are still interested in buying.

I plan on purchasing next year if anything this summer (if financial issues permit).

Overhype the car. Get those super interested no matter what. Increase price so those people still buy no matter what.

That's what I'm getting from all this marketing propaganda. lol

I really can't help but feel like they won't commit until it is closer so they can see how the dollar compares to the yen (which has gotten really bad) and then the two companies have to agree based on each other and with each other (I bet sitting in on one of those meeting who be a blast ::sarcasm:. Seems like there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't get to see, but I'll admit, it is definitely frustrating to keep waiting.

And as Giccin said, it's probably also so they can hype it to the point where some people will be blinded to the price to an extent.

Honestly, the thing i find to be the oddest is how we all have been told that Toyota went to Subaru and said, "lets make a baby." subaru put up a fight for awhile and Toyota eventually threw out enough cash where Subaru just bent over and put their back's into and made what we've been wanting.

With all that said. It seems like Toyota has been parading itself around with, "look what i can do" and subaru chillin inside getting it's work done. lol

This may be wrong as i am just speculating, but what if the Frs was priced higher or equal to the brz? I went to the Subaru reps and have heard that subaru didnt have enough funds for r&d in a new sports car. Enter toyota with its higher payroll to allow this to happen and now they have a hit on their hands.

Like i said, its all speculation. I just hope it's reasonably priced and blast to drive.
