The design is very solid and works great as stated by the majority of the members here on the forum who purchased the system.

As far as the couple people still claiming to have the "Bog", how do we know there is not another underlining issue with the car?

We have offered to send Visconti a system so that he can write a Tune for it, for those that want additional performance, however the Tune is clearly not needed for the system to run properly and make power.
I'm sorry Dave, but this is just wrong. It's simple. I put on my stock intake and have no issues. I put on the AIRAID and have issues. I'm on a stock tune now and it still does it.

Maybe there is something wrong with my particular unit? Nothing seemed out of place as I installed my intake at the same time I helped install @Sony 's intake. He's been in my car before and after install and has seen the problem.

I don't understand why people won't believe me. @Sony has seen it first hand.

Do not tell a customer the problem wasnt replicated and expect more sales. the forum is about truth in user experience; its really not a 'sales arena' as vendors hope it to be.

For me, my money is where my mouth is and I am willing to pay for HP and improvements. so far this one is a fail.
If you take a look at the poll HERE you will see that there are TWO people claiming they have a bog with an aftermarket intake and a stock tune. Also notice that there are THREE people claiming to have a bog and their car is bone stock.

I just want to point out the facts, because on a forum it can seem like there is a large scale problem with a lot of affected cars when it's actually only a couple of cars. One person has already stated that his problem was due to an installation error causing a leak after the MAF.

Also, AIRAID has a 100% customer satisfaction policy and will issue a full refund no questions asked. It makes me wonder why people are still driving around on a part that they feel is detrimental to their driveability. If it was me I would take the part in question off the car and get a refund. Personally I don't want anyone to feel like they are stuck with a part they are not happy with!

This is just my personal opinion, I honestly take no sides here. My advice to you would be to just return the intake. You have already tried to make it work, but it just didn't work out. Why not just get your money back and wait a bit later and get a different brand of intake in the future?

Or just go back to the stock intake until Airaid and Visconti work out a tune that makes all the mods play nice with each other and then reinstall it.

I installed mine last night; I'll get some pictures up after the weekend and I'll probably drive it to work tomorrow. My only complaint is that I didn't like the black screws with the bonus lid so I picked up some stainless screws and washers.

Dude challenge that! the product is made in america, NAFTA states you should only have to pay your provincial and government sales taxes on that, being from Alberta you should only have to pay 5% GST! that would be like 15 bucks!

I once ordered a $800 Cerwin Vega surround sound system and I paid 60CND for customs charges which to me is fair, but 72.86 on a $280 purchased is BS.

Installing the intake tonight, I have no bog issues or any issues with my FRS in relation to engine, I will post a video and feedback tonight!

Well, I'm also trying to see what the problem is exactly. I'm sure AIRAID would like to know as well.

I installed mine last night, Minus one clamp that ive spoken to David and he has already responded promptly!.

I took it out for a long drive last night and I have none of the bogging issues either, i tried to make a video but camera died while i was out. I tested it in different senarios as well.

1st gear 3-4 klm roll and full throttle, 3 gear 1.5K rpm full throttle, light throttle.
I will do a more detailed test again tmr as I finally have time off work, but yes so far its been great, i removed the snorkel as well after my first test drive and I would recommend everyone to do it! its super easy, and makes a huge difference in sound for sure.

Overall Im more than happy with the intake, does its job, every gear climbs much effortlessly than before, response has improved, but to me i notice it the most in the higher gears, gears 3-6 are much much better.
BUT...... The sound is what gets me the best, again I come from a Honda background and there intakes have always sounded beautiful, this intake with the snorkel removed has that nice pitch that sings.

I will continue to test for the bogging issues, to ppl trying to blast Airraid, you should read this ENTIRE thread as well as the other one about Bogging issues. Its not just the Airraid intake and it is not everyone! The other thread was created because we realized this a few days ago! Its easy to pin point Airraid @ this time because I think its safe to say there much more of us with there intake than any other company @ the moment!

I feel for those with the issue, with my current Tranny issue it bugs me everyday, but time will heal all and Airraid has proven regardless of what happens, They will do the right thing, if you think about it there response and being in here chatting all along has already been top notch, if this were some of the "other companies" they MIGHT not have a response for months.

To respond to the concerns that 'they changed something' and it fixed my bogging

First off, I am totally stock other than this. Car has 4000km on it, I've done 1 oil change, it runs 94 octane no ethanol, I have no chirp or CEL/Idle drop issues.

I still hold that my particular slight hesitation was due to vacuum leak. My hesitation was very slight. It was basically a throttle dead spot that was slightly larger than the stock tip-in dead spot.

Other stock people having this problem, maybe it truly is a vacuum leak for them. Sure, try wrapping the PCV fitting in teflon tape. Can't hurt. Reinstall it. Make 110% sure the couplers aren't kinked or bent over on the underside of the connections where you can't see. Etc...

The people with the 'violent' bogging, that is a different story. I didn't have that sort of issue so I won't comment on it.

Oh and by the way as far as I can see no one has thanked you guys for including a threaded brass plug in the sound delete tube...

As someone who loves meth injection that is an awesome little Easter egg, although I don't plan to use meth until I have a turbo on it, at which point I probably can't reuse that tube but you never know... maybe fun to run it on a N/A engine and see if the timing gets a bit more aggressive on the factory tune.

Hello 2forme,

We have not found a problem with this kit in our testing and the fact that 99% of people do not have any issues either speaks volumes.

How about this, I will send you a call tag and have your system picked up and sent back to us, and we will evaluate your kit and we will measure it out to spec and test it on our in house FR-S..... If we find any problems with your system, I will send you a brand new kit.... Fair enough?

Please send me a PM with your full name, address, contact # so we can get this going.

Thanks,
David

Again, stellar customer service. What more can they do? Oh, if any of you return it, will you send the fifty back too?

Thats how vacuum leaks work, the larger the leak the worse the hesitation. Take my Jeep as an example, it has a hole in a 3/32" vacuum line and if you slam the throttle to the throttle to the floor (when the engine is still cold) it will stall. My point is that it doesn't take much to cause the problems that the 3 people are describing, heck a loose clamp could cause that.

In my oppinion this is an installation issue not a product issue.
