Nevertheless, mad props because its a TRD and it's Uber limited edition!
Agreed, here you can buy a stripped out RC86 for HALF the price and add mods that could be better than the TRD ones for less than the TRD parts.

But then it wouldn't be as unique worldwide. You can't even by a TRD86 in most countries. Sometimes it's not about the money...

I completely understand. While my 10-series pales in comparison to your TRD edition, I paid a $5K premium for special paint, special emblems, special mirror, some badging, a trunk carpet, navigation, a GT86 HVAC system, a push button start, and a few other things. Some people find those extra goodies to be a waste, but I (like you) get thrills out of being part of something unique. I'll post some pics of my car too when I get a chance. It's just that every time I want to do so I keep thinking I should wait until I get coils or different wheels or a tint job.

By the way, I REALLY, REALLY like the wheels that come on your car. I'm also a huge fan of all the underbody braces and bars you have. That car came very loaded and the things you're adding to it only make it look that much nicer.

I REALLY like that 10-series paint colour - that to me is worth the extra in itself.

Our GT86 model here has the extras you get with your 10 series and is about NZ$5k more so comparable extra cost.

You can get the TRD wheels but they are REALLY expensive - about NZ$900 each here with tyres. US$726 each (excl freight) from here http://www.japanparts.com/db/partsli...VOLKEY=&page=3

Just had the second annual Toyota Festival here in New Zealand. The festival was inspired last year by the enthusiasm of the 86 owners.

This year about 500 toyotas registered to come with about 50 86s or BRZs. toyota were good enough to allow BRZs to attend as Subaru here does NOTHING for their BRZ owners.

I polished my TRD up and did the track sessions and also won a prize in the show n shine for most accessorised Toyota with OEM or TRD products. Cost me well over $20k but I won a t-shirt!

Embarrassing that my wife's fastest lap was 1.3s faster than mine - oh the shame!

Some pics of the day:

Shined up and ready to go

The overall show n shine winner - 1969 Toyota Crown 2 door - a lovely balance to me of old classic and new style

My wife on track

Over 200 Toyotas on the track for a group photo

And some of the 86s and BRZs that were there

New wheels.

TWS T66-F 18x9" +44 with 86 specific hubs.
Wrapped in Nitto INVO 255/35/18 tyres

The TRD spec SF2 wheels I had in 18x7.5" are made by TWS so got their similar version but 1.5" wider that sit much more flush. Just need to do some surgery on the centre caps to have TRD rather than TWS as the centre caps are a slightly different size.
