So you buy a car that's primary purpose is to handle well and be a good weekend track car and then completely ruin what makes the car great and post pictures on the forum and expect to get praise for your setup? I think you'll find most people who buy this car are people who care about function over all else and don't like anything about stance.

You people are absolutely ridiculous. We get it - you don't like the idea of the photo. But jesus...GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE.

Its a goddamn photo.

If he did it on a public road going 50 he would be stupid.

Its like you guys need to degrade someone to make yourself feel better. If he didn't have a wide wheel/cambered setup I bet many of you wouldn't be saying a word about the photo after finding out it was done at 4mph lol

I'm sure i'll get responses telling me i'm taking sides here but i'm not. Too many of you people have such an elitest mentality it is sickening. I tend to just stay in the middle. Even though I hate many setups on here, who am I to put you down about it?

If we all drove the same damn thing with the same setup, this place would be boring and would take all the excitement out.

And just to clarify here - he never posted his photo up to get "praise". Someone else posted it up to bash him.

There is nothing wrong with people not liking a stanced car, its not for everyone.

Oh and not everyone has the money to make this a dedicated "weekend track car."

@SLICVIC:

First off, you never answered one of my questions, which is simply "what is the name of this fad?" Oh, and adding multiple question marks to the end of any question really reinforces how calm and reasonable you are.

Next, I never said the photo was bad, I appreciate the time and effort that your friend put into it. At the end of the day, the photo looks great, except for that wheel hanging out the window. Lets face it, if the photo was taken with the wheel inside the car, properly mounted where it should be while the car is moving..we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Simply put, you just don't get it. You're twisting people's statements to make it sound like they think the photo is stupid. Well, they don't. Try using those critical reading skills to see this rather than getting overly-defensive and insulting a group of people who are calling out something, that for all practical reasons, is a indefensibly stupid fad.

What the most of us are upset with is the fact that you are promoting a fad that is the equivalent of sprinting with your eyes closed. Sure, you may run until you are out of breath without hitting anything, but if you do hit something, whether it be person, tree, or wall, its going to hurt.

Your friend is blameless in this one. I applaud his skills. You need to own up and just admit you made a mistake in adding a wreckless pose to what was otherwise a cool picture.

The dude has a build thread with pictures he posted.

When I say weekend track car, I mean one you can drive there, track, and drive home and daily the rest of the week. All it requires are some brake pads, fluids, and set of wheels and tires.

I don't know why all these stance guys choose purpose built cars to start with and ruin their intended purpose. If it was another car I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it.

In this vein, you just reminded me that I brought this up to my wife last night, to which her response definitely rings true. She didn't ask why they hang it out the window, or why its cool, just:

Quote:
"Why do they need detachable wheels?"
I understand the desire to emulate a racecar, and some of the wheels look cool. But, essentially, they are pointless to have in a non-track car, let alone one that you would drive home from the track. So, essentially, this is "rice" in its purest form.

You do realize that this is about more than just the posed picture of the blue car, right? If not then you should go back and read the entire thread.

Lol that how u really feel bro? I actually think most of the hellaflush cars as you call it happen in garages with hair dryers, baseball bats, and sometimes an actual fender roller when lucky. I think your comment is kinda ignorant, but that's my opinion.
