There is a thread in the off-topic section about Stage 5. It has completed and unfortunately on a cliff-hanger. Most of the fan-subs have been take down, but you might find them on nwanime.com (I think that was it).
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14153 Personally I would love to see a "sequel" with Takumi and the golfer's kid picking up the mantle with an GT-86. |

Damn I'm jelly! I only recently started getting into the show (I'll admit to being pretty 86 ignorant before I bought my car), and I really enjoy it. This is awesome though, my girlfriend is obsessed with Japan and I'll definitely be able to convince her to visit. .... Also congrats on getting married!

if it wasn't for Initial D, I would've never gotten interest in the AE86, and I would've never owned an FR-S. the first day I drove it off the lot, I drove around listening to the soundtrack and intro songs, haha.

![]() In all seriousness though, I was a huge fan way back when. I think around the middle of 4th stage I lost interest. I played the arcade game religiously (just IDASv3) and was one of the top players in USA West (for at least two tracks). I was also one of the first four people to get a rainbow battle aura, and 2nd or 3rd person to have a 30-star car (on US machines).

Have a red RX8 at 30 stars then retired it and started a troll car, a black RX8 named "VTEC!" Got that to BL27 or 28 with that one. Had a couple other cars like a 6 gear miata called FISHY, that one was BL16 or 17. Had an Evo IV for general use, and another Evo IV that was for Japanese machines. Also had a FT version of pretty much every course car. In total, with all my currents and invalids, I probably have a 3 or 4" thick pile of cards. (30 star is an invalid. Real one is in storage). I always prefered to race boost on, whether in the RX8 or not. Made it more exciting. Leave precision to the time attack mode and Internet Ranking, this is a battle.
Below are the ones I still keep in my wallet day to day (though... given the condition, I probably shouldn't anymore, lol). I got out of the game once TST caught on. I could never really wrap my head around it because its so counter intuitive. My times were pretty competitive till TST drivers ruled the IR and suddenly times dropped by 2-3 seconds when they used to be separated by thousandths.![]() Edit: The Black RX8 you're talking about might have been JOFSD, an old friend I haven't seen in a loooong time. I think he was the first to 30 stars on a US machine, as far as I know. Mine was shortly after. 10th star Bunta on Irohazaka was a PAIN.

I've been a big fan of Initial D since the first tokyopop dvd was released. It was pretty horrible in english, but then I watched it in japanese with the music intact, big difference. I collect Initial D things. Fourth stage is my favorite. I think fifth stage lost some of the magic, but episode 13 and 14 felt like the good old days...but then the cliffhanger

I just noticed I've been an Initial D fan for over 10 years now(check out my avatar)... lol my PSN is Tak_Trueno if that doesn't give it away that I'm an ID fan. My other favorite anime is Hajime No Ippo. The writer for Hajime No Ippo was under Shuichi Shigeno before he went off on his own. Both great manga/anime.

it's weird watching s1 again. The show was alll about drift battles lol, and then it eventually got a bit more serious/'realistic'.
Has there been any cross promotion with 86 and initial d outside of the newest arcade games having it? Seems like a no brainer. |
