Well, currently in the manga, Takumi is racing that kid. That's why they couldn't finish it.

Not really. I've been reading the manga & watching it same time. I didn't have any problem feeling "spoiler"... but again, that's just me

Love it! Although I haven't caught up with the 5th season. I'll probably just watch the whole thing when it comes to DVD. I like Initial D so much that when I went to Japan the summer before last, we rented a car and drove out the Mt. Haruna (AKA Mt. Akina) way out in the Gunma prefecture:

The double guardrails where they park and stage the races:

The old water tower near the double guardrails:

The paddleboats at the lake near at the top of Mt Haruna:

And last but not least, the gutters, for true Initial D fans:

They even have the ice skating arena near the bottom, signs and all....

It was my and my girlfriend's (wife in two weeks) favorite day of the trip. Initial D aside, it was a beautiful area. We had a blast driving out there with a GPS unit that was only in Japanese, going through the wrong side of a toll booth and then having to back out (RHD oopsie), and freaking out about getting back to Tokyo since we couldn't work the GPS unit in Japanese.

Fortunately, Japenese people are some of the most patient, nice, and helpful people in the world.
