Seems like they are all having a guess at the price, at leats they are all saying low-mid $30k, which is good news, fingers crossed its true

"Pricing is expected to start in the low-$30,000 "

i still can't believe the 1000 production per year. MX5 sells 900,000 in 22 years. that's a little more than 40,000 per year. Mazda sells 40x more than GT86???

1000 seems very low to me. I'm pretty sure they will sell that many in the first month.
Is it possible that they want to create hype so anyone thinking of getting one will jump and put their deposit down so they don't miss out?

If this figure is correct the waiting list could stretch out to months or possibly a year.

It won't be 1,000 a year. Been following the Leeky thread, everyone seems to be confident it was a translation error.

The Rukus has sold more than 1,000 here in Australia since launch, it'd be a bit silly if there was only 1,000 new hachi's each year for the whole world. There's been wayyyy too much marketing for that kind of quantity too. Considering they are sharing the platform with Subaru to make it more economical, it really doesn't make sense why the hell they'd only make 1,000 a year. They still need to pump out serious quantity to reach the price point they're chasing. Limiting volume but worrying about production economy = doesn't make sense.

Car Advice reports the 86 will start below the 40K mark but provides no solid source of that.

Quote:
Subaru Australia says it will make its call before Christmas, but says the decision is in no way influenced by the pricing for the Toyota 86 that is expected to start below $40,000 when it arrives in mid 2012.
$39,999

Interesting quote,
Quote:
“I think it’s a Subaru,” says Senior. “It uses a Boxer engine, our engineers did all the engineering work, and we did the fine-tuning [of the suspension] in Australia.”
We had a BRZ test mule in Australia?

GT-86 TRD for me..... Then of to the local for a HKS turbo strapped on and some ohlins coilovers and Black TE37s...

Hopefully $55,000 for TRD then $20,000 for goodies.....

Dont forget a 20-50mm wide bodykit to boot

Gonna have to start a Perth thread soon...

Maybe the hardcore fans who r getting one straight out like me can all get together and do a group buy through a decent Perth dealership an save a bit of coin...

Black on Black for me bitches.......

White with black for me. Also looking at black te37's or those RE30's on the TRD in gloss black will look hot!
Can't wait for TRD pricing to come out!

Dun care about TRD bodykit as i'm sure there are better and cheaper alternatives.

i'll get white and red/black cloth trim. then get some RPF1 in black and drop the ride height. then see what's out there for CAI and exhaust etc.

the Scion is pretty much what the JDM low spec is.

i'd assume our spec starting with a 3 will be pretty similar.
