Well that's why I asked what you were interested in comparing. Without knowing what your goals/methodologies are, I have nothing but the "crude" variables to compare.

So, that all said - what metrics are you interested in? I'm not trying to be an ass here, I'm legitimately trying to offer you some advice. Sorry if I'm coming off as condescending, it's truly not my intent.

Lol no harm dude.

I was just planning on doing it myself, haven't had a chance to sit down and think about it too much yet.

Bit off the topic, but I searched and could not find anything, but just wondering if any of you guys or girls are ceramic coating these headers. I'm thinking of doing it but don't know if it's really necessary as I don't do track days and wondering if they produce more heat than standard header because they don't have the heat shields. thanks

I looked into ceramic coating but ultimately didn't. I wasn't sure if it would affect the warranty or not. Planning on fabricating my own heat shielding to help protect components in te engine bay.

There's a few posts on it in here basically saying there weren't any issues running without shielding. Same goes for other headers, not just these. Search around a bit for those threads and it'll probably go into more depth.

Doubt it will affect daily driving but bottom line yes it will produce more heat than the standard header. All aftermarket headers will do that if not ceramic coated.

Randomly got a P0420 today while cruising on the freeway just now... cleared it with OFT and now the throttle is laggy, similar to that experienced right after flashing a new tune. The code has not resurfaced yet.

Can anyone explain? Is this the "limp mode" that I've seen being thrown around here?

I've had this come up a couple times during freeway driving. I usually clear it with my P3 gauge while driving. From my experience, clearing the code is similar to an ECU reset which usually results in lag while the ECU is relearning. Usually back to normal operating condition in a short period of time.

When I clear the code with my OFT there is no pedal lag.
Every once in a while when I get the code, there isn't pedal lag, but some sort of hesitation. I can press the gas far and it's like it's doing almost nothing.
For the record, I don't have the ft86sf header.

Both interesting points, thanks. In my case, it does feel more like an ECU reset than anything else, as I would describe it as that familiar "lag" rather than "hesitation". Pulls decently when I step on it, but it does feel like it "forgot" how to optimize power with my setup.

So is the code coming up randomly something to be concerned about (e.g., bad cat, leak, etc.) or is it safe to assume that--as others including Jeremy have pointed out--it's just a side effect of having other intake/exhaust mods? Why does it not come on more consistently?

Mine started coming up after a few thousand miles and my only other mods were a catted motiv FP and a blitz drop in filter at the time. No matter how many times I cleared it, it would always come back.

Mine started a few months after install. Setup at the time was Zeta intake tube with Stage 2 filter, FT86speedfactory header and their V1 exhaust. No other exhaust mods.

It would generally occur if I hit the freeway shortly after a cold start with cruise set at about 65 - 75 mph. I would rarely get it anytime if I had already been driving for awhile and even more rarely during city driving.

I have since upgraded to the Grimmspeed intake and have yet to have it throw a code since. I have also just started using the OFT with the Stage 1 tune and have not yet had an issue.

I do not believe it has anything to do with the header being faulty, but with the other supporting mods it may be combined with based on my experience so far.

Ok so I just got my OFT today.
My mods are: FT86Sp Catted UEL
Motiv Catted fp
Greddy Supreme Sp Cat Back
Blitz Drop in filter

Uploaded the Stage2UEL tune. Would have went with the stage 1 but i didnt want to have to fiddle with it trying to figure out how to turn off the 2nd O2 sensor.

Butt dyno was happy with the "gains"

Logged a 2-3-4-5 pull and AFRs were in the mid to high 11's dropping down to lower 11's close to red line. This is my first time doing any sort of tuning on an N/A car, but I know on a turbo platform this is pretty much the target AFR range.

Also looked for knock. Only parameter I found related to knock was knock correction. Only saw that pop up in one instance. I'm used to seeing Lt and St Knock on my diablo tuner for my other car so I'm not sure what this means exactly.

I'm pretty sure I am running the latest software and tunes. When I downloaded the OF Manager and plugged my OFT in it went through a series of updates.

Have to really learn how to use this though seeing as this is my first day with it.
