Todays telegraph news paper .
Subaru boss Nick Senior debating on if they will bring the BRZ to Australia. 1. Stated it could be priced at around $32,000 plus. 2. If anyone knows the approx. pricing it is going to be him. 3. Good news is that Toyota will almost be in the same pricing even if Subaru don't go a head. Oh what a warm fuzzy feeling ! |

Incorrect. Heres what the newspaper says
'Senior won't give an idea about price but the coupe has been suggested as being saleable around $32,000" Sounds like speculation to me. |

If I'm not wrong, the engine will be the same across the models? |

![]() At the moment there's been no indication that there will be a difference in engine across trim levels. Should even be the same engine regardless of the car being Toyota, Subaru or Scion branded, too. Something cool from Carsguide guys! Yep, an Aussie actually got to drive it! Quote I like the best from it: "The car should be on sale around the middle of next year. Our ambition is a starting price with a three at the front," says Toyota spokesman, Mike Breen. They then go on to say it'll be on sale mid-2012 for an estimated $35,000. Nothing solid yet, but I'm happy that this all lines up with what I was told at AIMS in Melbourne earlier in the year. |

If that is the case, the OTR for the base model will be around $40K+++. Premium model will be around $50k+++ OTR then. |

Leeky's info suggests only 1000 units per year globally, as we keep hearing Australia is a small market, I wonder how many of those we'll be getting?
How many would have to be sold here to make it worth going thru ADR compliancing and crash testing etc? The good news is that Toyota (Japan) will be selling at cost, I guess the 86 is all about brand image and not money. Toyota Australia might be different though haha. |
