Finally finished sound deadening the whole car, after nearly a year of working on it!

What are you going to do in place of the stache?

By the way, was your Eclipse twin turboed? And were you on new4geclipse.org?

My eclipse was twin turbo at one point. I was on the old .com site til it went to shit and then the .org, yes.

Gonna get a sheet of black mesh and build a grill to fill the hole

Spent the day detailing the car. Here's a nice pre-Memorial Day flag reflection.

I also installed the Home Depot $2 sound tube delete kit.

No, it's just clay bar, Maguire's D/A microfiber correction system and 3 layers of Zaino. It came out pretty well for not knowing what I was doing!

Went for an epic drive.

Started in southern Denver, drove down to Ken Caryl, up Deer Creek, over to Kerr Gulch, across I70 to the Peak-to-Peak Highway. Took that all the way to Estes Park. Then drove west through Rocky Mountain national park (way up into the sky-- 12k feet... ask me about my 5-second 0-30 time in first gear ) and down past two lakes towards Winter Park. Then hopped onto I70 for a few minutes, hopped off again, and drove Kerr Gulch and Hwy 74 back down to Red Rocks, and took the highway home again.

I don't even know how many miles it was. It took about 8 hours, with a few stops for gas, food, and views. Traffic was shitty in the early afternoon (I was basically stuck behind 20mph Harleys, SUVs, pickups, and other slow stuff from the beginning all the way to the high point in Rocky Mountain ntnl park), but once I got passed the "scenic lookout" ~30 mins past Estes Park the traffic basically disappeared. Had a gorgeous late afternoon / evening run down the mountain, through the countryside and up over the pass by Winter Park... utterly gorgeous light.

Here are some pictures!

The "top" of the Rocky Mountain national park road... where everyone presumably turned around after looking around for a minute.

More of the same.

Got a sandwich to-go on the far side of the park, drove to suitably picturesque highway turnout, consumed sandwich and took pictures. It was a really good sandwich, actually.

Wishing I had a real camera instead of an iPhone... it doesn't do the light justice at all.

My lunch spot, looking back toward the highway. Not pictured: me turning off traction control when it came time to leave and doing a lovely "extra sharp" 180 before getting back on the highway. I proceeded to grin stupidly from ear to ear and turn sport mode back on.

So I guess your friend was stock? What kind of a comparison did you do? I had a stage II GLI that would trounce my BRZ in a straight line. Now in the twisties, that would have been closer. I still enjoy the BRZ much more as an overall daily driver. I always felt like I was having to hold back with the GLI.
