It's taken some time, but dyno day is this Thursday, the 20th!

Sorry to disappoint guys, but while on the dyno, it seems a piece of the catalytic converter in my P&L header broke off and lodged in the turbine housing. The car is essentially NA again, except even worse off. I'm probably going to have to replace at least the turbine now so I won't have any numbers to show for some time.

Sh@t man... Sorry to hear that. How does a piece of a catalytic converter gets dislodged or breaks off like that

Not the first time I've heard of this. My buddy's '05 STI had the same incident... Maybe Subie should create a mesh/honeycomb down the exhaust line to prevent this. Then again it would probably create additional flow restriction.

How do the Oil coolers and regulators look like and where are they mounted? Once installed, do you guys use 0W-40 engine oil?

Updates! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...6&postcount=95

http://imgur.com/OMQmWXr Apologies for the blurry picture, but this is the view of the catalytic converter inside the P&L header downpipe.

http://imgur.com/NTw4P6o These were the pieces of the catalytic converter removed from the turbine housing. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the damaged turbine wheel.

http://imgur.com/tf9Sqb4 The beautiful new billet compressor wheel from the new GTX2971R that Moto-East so kindly let me "steal" from their upcoming MX5 turbo kit. Mike had mixed feelings parting ways with his beloved turbocharger, but I am extremely grateful that he did because it meant that I was able to take the car home that same day. Unfortunately, since we didn't finish everything until around 8:30 that night, we weren't able to get it on the dyno, but it'll be on in the near future! We'll be using Ecutek and an EBCS to have different boost levels, one of which will probably crack 400whp.

Unfortunately though, any numbers that the car is able to produce will be fairly irrelevant to this kit's capabilities since I'm now using a completely different turbocharger that costs over twice as much as the one supplied with the kit. The results will be able to attest to the functionality of the intake/exhaust layout of the kit though, so it's not a completely lost cause!

Here's a neat overlay showing how our up pipe and downpipe route where the factory overpipe would be. Cheers.

Hello, I'm interested in what exhausts would work with this kit? Perhaps carb legal?

Just about any exhaust. This kit is meant to work with the factory exhaust.

Anyone else that's installed this kit with reviews/feedback? I'm a bit surprised given its CARB approval, this thread is so quiet...

Note that you will have to keep both cats to stay CARB legal ie cat back only, keeping the stock mid-pipe w/ the secondary cat.

Not a lot of vocal/active current owners?
