I'm getting mines installed with my friends this weekend.

Still trying to figure out who can tune my car since I bought the openflash tablet instead of the ecutek.

Last of the parts arrived today. So it looks like I will be installing this weekend as well. If all goes according to plan.

Ongoing install, plan to remove the washer fluid bottle/reservoir because it kinks the hose for the inter cooler.
Has anyone done a mod for the bottle or is there an alternative product for this?

AVO instructions say to enlarge a hole that holds the bottle on the bottom thus allowing it to sit lower and make room for the IC hose.

Currently this is what we are seeing with your car Doc.

Let me get back to you on this, wait what Paul suggests.

I posted this in my build thread but I thought I'd share it directly here as I think it's pretty useful info. I was having an overboosting issue that I didn't discover until today on @ptuning's dyno.

Quote:
So the overboosting issue was caused by the following broken hose:

This little bastard was hooked into the turbo directly. I can only assume it was responsible for feeding to the wastegate. Since it was broken right at the turbo this meant the air pressure never reached the gate and therefore never caused it to open.

My car built boost continuously. Toan @ptuning never let it get too dangerous but noticed there was an issue when I was making over 300 hp at around 5500 RPMs. He's going to send me the dyno plots for comical value.

Thankfully we caught this when we did. I learned a couple things here:

1. GET A @#$%ING BOOST GAUGE!! Even my "safe" 5 psi tune could have had catastrophic mechanical failures which very nearly lead to engine grenade. I would have known something was wrong if I had a boost gauge. I know this is obvious but I felt like reiterating the obvious since I didn't do the obvious...

2. This was the reason I "needed" a new clutch. I was making tremendous power and didn't even realize it. A stage 1 tune with the stock clutch might be just fine after all.

3. THIS ENGINE IS AMAZING. It put up with this unbelievable punishment without knocking or showing any signs that something was wrong. I was pushing 12+ psi on pump gas with no fueling system upgrades. I DO NOT recommend doing this permanently, but I must say I am thoroughly impressed and relieved that this wasn't a blown motor.

I'll post the dyno plot when PTuning sends it to me. I was on track to make nearly 330 whp lol. Don't know what the torque numbers were yet but boy was that a surprise....

This. I imagine you could also drill another hole and move the hose over if you wanted, but not sure this would be required?

Is that kinked hose the washer spout feed line? Not sure I can tell from that pic/angle. I actually drilled the hole out as Avo instructed, and then also on the top mount I drilled a new hole and put a new screw in to the sheet metal.

Thanks Mark. Just want to find out how the other owners dealt with it. It's not a big thing to have but it is something nice to have.
Thanks for all the help.

Andrew there are three mods to the washer bottle.
1) enlarge the hole where the rest on.
2) oblong the top hole to allow the drop
3) oblong the side hole to allow the drop

you need to do all three or the bottle will not drop enough.
