Well, I just picked up a 2004 WRX STi last month for a winter car. It's nice to have power/torque again! I will say the BRZ is still the preferred car to drive, but it makes me realize how much it needs more grunt!

It's like the guy I talked to who owned a non-turbo 95 Supra. When I asked if it was a Turbo, he said "oh no, it's fast enough without it". Obviously sir, you haven't driven the turbo Supra before.

I didn't really have a "high" horsepower car but I had an SC400 with the 4.0 v8 (used to call it a baby v8). That was my DD for roughly a year before I opted out and drove my 240sx vert for 3 months. Soon after I ran and grabbed a BRZ and I love it. I still miss the rumble of the v8 however with the straight pipes but I love the way the BRZ handles opposing to that boat !

The SC400 is a great car. My dad had one for years. It was so easy to exceed the speed limit because of the quiet, smoothness, and torque.

Yup, and they were so heavy so they sat on the road beautifully at high speeds. You would never realize how fast you were actually going ahah

Stage 2 B5 S4. I am missing the nice interior materials and torque. The BRZ is a lot of fun at slow speeds though and it actually turns vs plowing. For the next few years, the BRZ will be perfect. After that, I'll get something with more room and more power.

Does it count if you drive fleet cars all day? A whole ton of the cars I drive at work are 280-320 hp V6s. I've driven quite a few Mustang GTs making them the most powerful cars I've driven at 412-420 hp. My own personal cars however, on the hp scale the FR-S will be the most powerful car I've ever had. Torque however, that goes to the Cressida.

I personally chose an FR-S not because of the power, but rather it realized the realities of daily driving. Driving a car slow but still having a lot of fun is realized on this car, whereas a lot of the cars I drive at work are fast to compensate for how boring they are. The Mustang is the exception but I feel silly all the time driving it slowly to avoid getting nabbed by the rozzers.

My two previous cars were a 421HP/454TQ evo and a stockish AP1 s2000. The BRZ drives a lot like my s2000 did handling wise. I enjoyed driving the s2000 more than the evo because it was like a big go kart! If I want the itch to go fast I still have the STi that I can drive!

A deer totaled my daily driver Grand Am GT I was using before replacing it with the BRZ, so it had less power at 175hp.

I still have my 750hp (638rwhp) ZO6 though, does that count?

2000 E39 M5. Still have it and love it. Changed jobs and my commute went from 10 mi/day to 70 and didn't want to rack up the miles. Test drove the BRZ and fell in love. Both the BRZ and the M5 are tons of fun to drive, but they go about it in completely different fashions. The BRZ is my samurai sword, slicing down the back roads, and the M5 is my iron fist in a velvet glove highway missle. I've been driving the BRZ 5-6 days a week and now when I get in the M5 the power surprises me every time.

Handling must be like night and day for you coming out of that behemoth, haha.

I came out of a 1993 240SX and a 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS. Sold both and bought the BRZ. The 240 was stock so it had 155 HP minus whatever it's lost over the years and the miles, and the Camaro had 312 HP (never regretted getting the V6 despite what others told me when I bought it). Surprisingly, the BRZ is actually not that much slower. The Camaro did 0-60 in 5.9, and the BRZ does it in, what, 6.3ish with a good driver?
