The 500-unit count is rounded. Subaru usually makes a little over that for some reason. Series.Blue had 1010, Series.HyperBlue had 504, and Series.Yellow had 501.

From the pics I’ve been seeing of the press event, it looks like all the tS press cars are Crystal white pearl, whereas the STI RA press cars are all three colors.
While we’re on the subject of color, the three local SoCal dealerships that have told me their Color allocation is as follows:
Dealer 1: 2 Crystal Black Silica
Dealer 2: 2 Crystal Black Silica, 1 Crystal White pearl, 1 World Rally Blue
Dealer 3: 1 World Rally Blue

Seems like SoCal’s getting a lot of Crystal Black Silica.

You're correct. Despite how inaccurate Toyota's website is in displaying the actual color.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, the picture on Toyota's main page looks completely different from Cool Grey.

I like the color, but not on that face. Guess I'll be sticking to Heritage Blue.

Don't forget the Heritage Blue will be a BRZ Limited with the Performance Package too!

2018 BRZ tS owner's manual. You're welcome.

In related news... the G-force meter still doesn't work while driving.

How has a photo of this on a BRZ not leaked yet?

Just an FYI, but the carbon fiber wing uses dry carbon. Dry carbon and wet carbon mainly apply to construction of the material, but do require different care sometimes. From photos it looks like the wing has a small amount of clearcoat, but I plan to ceramic coat mine.

I noticed that all the WRX RA’s being used have 000/000 numberplates, so it could be possible that these are meant to be disposed of after they’ve been wrung out by all the journalists. This is a fate that happens to a lot of press cars. There’s a salvage yard in southeast LA that ends up crushing most of the west coast press fleets.

Out of curiousity I pulled some VINs on Subaru’s Auction list and a lot of them were owned by Subaru of America. I’ve seen pre-production cars and they do not have a 17-digit VIN.

For the Type RA, I feel like they could just swap out the piece surrounding the shift knob with an actual # in the sequence and nobody would ever know it was a press car (although a CarFax would show “Fleet Vehicle.”) That’s assuming these are cars with a 17-digit VIN...

Those White tS’s we see from photos of car shows and the press drive all have 17-digit VINs with the same VIN-schematic as BRZ’s since the ‘13 Model. They were made in the end of August they arrived in New Jersey mid-November haha.

There’s over 10 of these, the majority being White.

Curious if there's any particular reason they've been marketing the tS so strongly with CWP.

It just looks better probably due to the contrast with the red trim and lines. WRB with the dark red seats and the pink lines outside...meh...and then they didn't paint the STi wheels gold. oh subaru...why????!!!! :'(

CWP is considered a premium color in Japan. You have to see it in close to understand. No relationship with the plain white used on fleet or rental cars. It makes also a nice contrast with the wing, the black rims and other details.
