RPF1s. I kept going back and forth, but those are the best bang for your buck.. lightweight, wide, look alright with a drop, cheap. Can't really argue with that choice except they're not the sexiest wheels looks wise. But function > form.

Why would spacers freak you out? With my extended studs my lugs will have MORE threads than stock even with the 5mm spacer to get et40.

P.S. get the tophats with wide tires, camber bolts will move the tire way far in to get the camber, with stock or drop springs you'll risk rubbing. Unless you stay at 225/235 for width.
I dunno I've just heard people say bad things about running spacers and how it ruins the steering feel and can mess up your wheel bearings. Also just the concept of putting metal between your hub and wheel seems weird to me. But if they work, then more power to you.

I guess I'll do a test fit once I get all my parts in and see if I run into any rubbing issues. Will order the tophats if I determine that there will be problems.

Now I'm just trying to decide on what tires to get. Between the v12 evos and R-S3s.. I know Blaine is going to recommend the R-S3s. But I'm still trying to figure out if I want to do a dedicated track set or just keep the RPF1s on full time and get a more DD suitable tire with decent grip.

The offset it what wares out bearings weather it's the natural offset of the wheel, or with a spacer. Therefore your et35 will cause more ware than my et40 with spacer.

The danger with spacers is NOT extending your studs. That's very unsafe. The H&R spacers I got are also hubcentric. However I'd never use the type of spacers that bolt onto the hub and then have their own studs.

There's not much info on the kw's so I was waiting to find more reviews before I make my decision.
I'm running Ohlins on my car. If you ever want to check them out in person, or want a ride let me know (I'm in Fremont). I also do 4-6 track days per year in case you would like to see them there.

Oh, nice. I'm in union city. Are you going on any of the drives or meets anytime soon? I don't want to take up any of your time if your busy.

I'm not planning on attending any of the meets in the next few weeks. After that, I'm not sure. If you would like to see the Ohlins earlier, it's no problem meeting for 10-15 mins. I'm usually free evenings and weekends.

Strano Parts front sway bar is going on the car TODAY! Then test at AutoX this weekend! I anticipate this bar will be much better than all of the name brand offerings for a many reasons. The biggest reason is it was actaully built with FOR the FR-S/BRZ. Most of the other parts manufactures just made a super stiff front bar to match the sorta stiff (but WAY to stiff for GT86) WRX/STi bar they already made to save R&D. IMO almost all of these "off the shelf" set-ups will make the car WAY WAY to stiff. Sways should be used to tune suspension, not "fix" it. Regardless I'll report back!

I also have whiteline camber top mounts, and wheel spacers so I can dial in MORE negative camber and go up to 255/40/17 tires!
Please say you have the latest production of the WL's top mounts and/or it has the improved inserts. I have the same but not yet installed as I'm following up with Robispec's hats. +1 on the Strano bars. They should be an aid in performance and not a bandaid on the driver. What 'stiffness' are you going with?

Yeah. I'm not even sure if I'll install the WL top mounts or just bite the bullet and get camber plates...

I'll try all three stiffnesses on the bar. Not sure which I'll start at though, prob the middle.

If either of you decide against installing the WL tophats, let me know!

I won't say "don't". Then I won't say "inquire with Robispec's hats". I won't say that because I have the WLs with the proper insert (I think) but it's still a shot in the dark.

Cars should have scars, don't athletes have scars? What about warriors or gladiators?

Most of the fun is creating them though!!!
