Good luck getting the tow company to pay for that, AND how did it even happen?

So much NEGATIVITY in the NorCal OT I figured I'll bring some POSITIVE!

Strano Parts front sway bar is going on the car TODAY! Then test at AutoX this weekend! I anticipate this bar will be much better than all of the name brand offerings for a many reasons. The biggest reason is it was actaully built with FOR the FR-S/BRZ. Most of the other parts manufactures just made a super stiff front bar to match the sorta stiff (but WAY to stiff for GT86) WRX/STi bar they already made to save R&D. IMO almost all of these "off the shelf" set-ups will make the car WAY WAY to stiff. Sways should be used to tune suspension, not "fix" it. Regardless I'll report back!

I also have whiteline camber top mounts, and wheel spacers so I can dial in MORE negative camber and go up to 255/40/17 tires!

Nice, are you going 255/40/17 all around or just the rear? Keep us posted on the difference when you switch out to the wider tires etc.

Square. Staggered would only hurt the handling of this chassis without boost, especially with the suspension tuning changes I've already made.

I could fit 265s in the rear right now if I wanted. I could fit 255s in the front right now too, but I wanna go down to neg 3 camber in the front and I'm afraid I'll rub on 17x9 et45 with that much camber and 255s. So I've got extended studs (10MM) and wheels spacers (5MM) to get to 17x9 et40.

I'm already running 245s all the way around. I've stuck with that size because it matches stock diameter and keeps gearing identical. I AM DOWN ON POWER IN STX so I didn't want to change the gearing, but with the soft rev limiter I've decided to trade power for more grip and a few more MPH in 2nd gear.

Take pictures and post them if you have time. I'd like to see how much clearance you have for suspension travel for the 255's. I might get a set of track wheels and tires. This will give me an idea of the options I have.

I can tell you what options you have if you give me your suspension specs! All of the information is out there, it's just matching up what parts you have that will allow you to fit XYZ set-up. And in reality what your track goals are.

Also I'll be at autoX in Marina Sat/Sun if anyone wants to come out!

That's why I'm going with +35 offset on my wheels, so I don't have to run spacers. Those things just sketch me out. I'll soon be ordering 255/40/17 and I hope it's not too much tire for how much power this car has. Can't wait for all that GRIP though! Let me know how much camber you get with the top hats, as that might be my next purchase. For now I'm just going with the bolts up front.

I wouldn't be able to get the suspension anywhere close to where I wanted it with a wide tire and 35 offset. BUT you have to put +35 if you want 255s and aren't getting coils.

Why would spacers freak you out? With my extended studs my lugs will have MORE threads than stock even with the 5mm spacer to get et40.

P.S. get the tophats with wide tires, camber bolts will move the tire way far in to get the camber, with stock or drop springs you'll risk rubbing. Unless you stay at 225/235 for width.

Right now I'm still running the stock suspension. I'm still debating on either the ohlins or kw clubsport 3-way adjustable. Leaning more towards the ohlins because of the price but not definite yet. As for goals, nothing too serious. Weekend drives and a couple track days in the future. I just don't like upgrading to a better suspension in the future if I can get it the first time around. There's not much info on the kw's so I was waiting to find more reviews before I make my decision.

Nice! I'd get the Ohlins out of those two options 10/10 times. I'm just on V3s which are plenty for me, not much track just autoX 30 times or so a year. The ride is fine. The lack of camber adjustment is irritating and forcing me to buy a whiteline product I'm skeptical of.
