did they tune their car? i don't see it mentioned in that tidbit. makes me worried to dish out all that money for headers and a tune if there is nothing to prevent the car from going back to baseline performance.

It won't, not sure where miss information like this comes from.. the only learning the ecu does that will affect power is going to be long term fuel trims and IAM. It cam move around a little but it isn't going to change dramatically. With the stock tune anyway. A shit tune will make one or two good pulls on the dyno then slowly knock down the IAM as you drive resulting in reduced power but the stock tune should stay about the same or go up form the reduced back pressure.

As someone who has many hours on the dyno with my personal car and hundreds of tune revisions using brzedit and open source tools, i can tell you one thing, That article is full of miss information. The problems they had are simply fuel quality and tune quality.

why do people always look at computers as a magical black box and then try to explain suspected magic to other people?

"learning" - you guys give computers too much credit

-from an IT guy

They have sensor to see how much air in & out to adjust everything to run smooth (to certain extend). Word "learn" might not be right word, prob best word to use is "adjust".

But tuning it we'll help greatly

Very enticing headers, especially since I am more interested in a catted header (no CEL with stock tune/ecu)..but like mentioned before, those welds are very horrible and ugly. No offense; just my honest opinion. I think those welds alone will turn many heads away (including myself). If it has good, or at least decent, looking welds, I would def pick this up with the quickness. Welds play a pretty big role in determining the quality/experience of a fabricator/welder.

B/c these computers auto-adjust according to their design, thus the "learning".

Fuel quality can't be helped in AZ & CA.
