I haven't been stopped since becoming a lawyer, but the only thing that ever worked for me (getting a warning instead of a ticket) in a traffic stop situation was just being polite and honest. The cop was like...wow, thanks for not making up some bs story, he told me to slow down and have a nice day...

Which is funny because now I know that you should never volunteer your transgression to the officer when they ask "Do you know why I pulled you over?",

...let them tell you why they pulled you over....it could have been for something you didn't even realize.

What exactly did you say? Did immediately say "yes sir, I was speeding so and so over the limit"

lol I have never got a ticket for hooning was just wondering what it is put on the ticket. I always thought it be something like "improper use of a vehicle" or some crap lmao You should put that in a frame its something to remember with your car

yea if cops want, they can impound your car for just hooning in a parking lot. Pretty dumb but most of the time they just let you go.

The cop asked do you know why I pulled you over, and without hesitation I said that I was 10 over the speed limit and that I should slow down. I think he was kind of shocked that I didn't give him some bs excuse for speeding or something...

yeah cop threatened to do that. I was just being nice to him so he wrote me up two tickets.
10 points on my license now (accumulated over the last three years). But 6 are falling off the end of this month and taking traffic school for the rest.

in Utah it takes 180 points to get your license taken away. reckless driving charges are an automatic 80 points alone. and usually those are joined with another charge. falls off in 3 years. most other infractions are 30 ish.

Yeah in FL it's 3 points for moving violations. 4 for reckless driving. Falls off in three years as well.

Got pulled over mid donut in parking lot in california and the cabin full of tire smoke. Reckless driving ticket and the car was impounded for 30 days. Have court jan 6th and i have no idea how to fight this. Car was released after 30 days and around 2k in impound fees.
