Last night my wife was driving us to dinner. Three snowflakes fell from the sky. She slowed down to half the speed limit, hunched over the wheel with a death grip and stared straight ahead. All I could think was "Oh oh here we go. Buick time".

Of course, by the time some of you youngsters are that age you won't need a driver's license since you'll only be able to drive a car on a closed track....in the artic circle....only at the equinox...with a gold ticket.
Oh, it's not far away for us. Those years are ticking by faster and faster.

My dad was 56 when he kicked the bucket. I probably won't make it much further anyhow.

tl;dr entire post.

Experience the manual now. Automatics (paddles) will be around for a long time. Manuals are quickly becoming an old technology. Embrace this wonderful old tech now while you still have this option. If it wasn't for my dodgy left knee .... I would be driving manuals for a life time.

You can compromise by installing curb feelers on your FR-S, all around the car. I wonder how many young'uns today know what curb feelers are.

Probable not many remember those........

I doubt they would do me much good ...... since I can't hear too good.

Do they have them that would send an electrical impulse to the drivers seat ..... ??

What?! Why did these ever go away? People could worry less about their $3000 wheels
