Do you have any idea how hard it is to make maple syrup? Much easier to crush some beets.

I figured that. Just amazed that is the combination. And wonder who spilled beet juice somewhere to find out it helps stop stuff from freezing and then went to sell their boss on the idea lol

I am still trying to figure out who first boiled 10 gallons of tree sap to end up with a quart of maple syrup. And then tasted it.
