You can add a 2 point, but you cannot change the stock bars, they decided those aren't strut bars and cannot be changed.

There was a bulletin a couple of years ago.

It's not legal apart from the fact you can't modify/change the stock bars as noted by 14stu. You can change one that is an existing three point bar, but you can't tie together two 2-point bars like we have into a three point one.

Thats funny. So we add a 2 point and basically have a 3 point. We just cant modify the existing stock bars. What a great rule!

What are people doing for rev limit? I know there's not much power to be made but bumping from 7500 to 7600 gets me from 59 to 61 in second. Would be really nice to hit 63 or even 65 but I don't want to run into valve float.

I've searched ft86club up and down and haven't seen a hard number anywhere.

Ran into this same quandary mid year when i was getting a tune. Ended up going with 7600, though hit around 64-65. I'm also on 255s which i think are a little taller. Went from hitting rev limit 4-5 times a course to maybe once which was really nice.

Appendix F - Clarifications (of the official SCCA Solo Rule Book)

Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ

The pair of OE strut tower-to-firewall/bulkhead braces are not considered to be a strut bar per Section 12.18 and are not allowed to be removed, modified, or substituted per section 14.2.G.

This clarification was added in 2013 during the first year the twins' competed in SCCA events.

64-65 indicated or calculated? I know the 255s will help but IMO it's only a small help. With respect to width, someone stacked them up against 245s and they're basically the same. :/

7800 would be enough to probably never shift except on insane courses, but I've seen suggestions that valve float starts that early. Again though, most of what I read is more speculation than hard evidence or number crunching.

I think it was 64 indicated and 65 calculated. Was oringally going to go higher but yeah, the valve float rumors scared me off it. While its probably fine, I'd rather not be the guinea pig.

I don't think I've seen a top national prep car ever having changed or messed with them. Just don't think it adds much to the deal.

Looking forward to joining the STX crew with Sam 14stu.

What ride hight is everyone running. We are running the Ohlins with the older stiffer spring rates. Also is anyone running a slight forward rake?? Or is neutral better?

Looks like my stock brake pads are just about due to replacement. What pads are you guys using for STX? I'm looking for something better than stock, but won't squeal like crazy on the street. I don't mind some dusting as long as it washes off fairly easily and isn't corrosive.

Winmax W3. I followed the bed in procedure and I do get any squeal. At all. I do get dust, but it washes off just fine. I have gunmetal Mach V wheels.
