Sorry i was only commenting on the first portion of your post. Travis is new to this platform and has been tuning his own car, i know one other local has had a test tune from him. If you want someone established, nothing against Travis but talk with Joe @ Goodspeed, he has a setup now.

For NA... eh not a huge deal. But I personally prefer to go with a tuner that has pushed a limit and blown something up. Joe is working with another tuner that has quite a bit FA20 experience in both NA & Boost (he daily drives a supercharged FA20 afaik). They are using Ecutek right now. I don't know what their plans for OFT users is at this point though. If you talk to him about it tell him OFT has a ROM defined for TunerPRO as Joe is familiar with that.

Hopefully travis doesn't take this post offensive, I don't mean it that way in any way. I would say the same towards any tuner new to the scene. I don't know extensively Travis's experience but I know he has been tuning subaru's a bit over the past few years (i think?).

So summary, if your okay with working with someone thats new to the platform he is definitely an option. And thats not a bad thing. If you want someone who had pushed the limits on the specific platform call Joe. You are more than welcome to tell him Marin gave you his recommendation.

Hopefully this helps!

I'd prefer to use someone local, but if I have to drive to CA to have Drift Office or Vishnu tune my car for 91ACN for the JR Rotrex SC kit, I will. But, if the local guys are confident and experienced (on their own BRZs or others') on tuning for FI, I'd rather use them. It'd save me money, and I prefer to support local businesses.

Vishnu is in SF just FYI, Drift Office is in WA. Evasive however is in socal. I don't know the full arrangement at goodspeed but it wont be like using a remote tuner... it will be tuned on a dyno. I know how you feel and have gone through the remote tuner bullshit and will not be doing it again. I will be tuning my next setup my self most likely. I considered driving to cali to have my car tuned before but flew a tuner out instead.

Somehow thought DO was in CA. I know Vishnu is CA. And when I talk about going to Vishnu, I do mean driving to CA for an on-site tune. This BRZ is my ONLY car. If I'm going to risk the warranty, I'll do it in the most risk-free manner that going FI will allow: on site tune. I'll be fine with remote tuning for fine tuning a reliable, dialed-in protune (ie., not just a "get to the tuner's" base map), but not for the pro-tune itself.
