Impressive! I've never been able to cut glass. I fail at even the simplest straight line.

I keep trying. One of these days, I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong.

yea, the problem with glass is you don't so much cut it as you (to paraphrase Woody from Toy Story) break it with style.

Circles are particularly problematic. Best method I've seen involves scoring the outside circle, coming in a bit and scoring a second circle, the doing a few square scores on the inside one to remove the middle then nibble away the new circle. It takes longer to say it than do it.

The glass shelves that come with this are only 11" by 12.5" and maybe 1/8" thick. The holes were a 4.5" diameter and a 3" diameter. I think it just stressed the glass too much.

The polycarbonate was so much easier. I cut the shelves with a cordless circular saw and then drilled the holes on a drill press (actually a ShopSmith).

I haven't figured out the technique with the preload-and-tap. It never follows my line. So frustrating. I have no style.

I'm only successful about 50% of the time. I watched a lot of videos of folks doing it to create holes. You could tell sometimes they weren't successful the first round either.
