Our e-tunes are actually just as good as an "in-person tune".

But I can see where you are coming from, you just want to hand the car over and have it tuned and drive away. Understood. If you change your mind hit us up and we will be glad to help you out.

If you think Subaru tuning is expensive you should look at what the GTR, Porsche, and other Euro guys are paying for tunes. You'd change your mind real fast about what's expensive

Subaru AccessPort: ~$600.

BMW AccessPort: ~$800.


The hardware's very likely the same, nice $200 bump for being a BMW unit.

I want to hand the car over, sit in the car with the tuner (not to steal his secrets, but to learn what's going on) as he does his stuff. Who knows. Maybe I don't know to watch or listen for things that he does and thus wouldn't catch, or maybe I don't have a good area to do pulls at but don't know that and thus hand over not-so-good logs that you don't know are the result of a less-than-proper road. Who knows. If this was a project car and not my DD, sure, road tune. But not when it's my only car and I'm already risking the warranty and engine just by going FI or just getting tuned.

If you guys can do awesome road tunes, then I still figure you're even better on site .

No, no no no no. Cobb has vehemently stated, numerous times, that the FRS/BRZ will never, ever, even if it was the only way to save the world from total annihilation, be compatible with their accessport.

Seriously though, if the call is there, i dont know why they didnt start working on it sooner. I hope it really does come out.

Looks to be a very old link from 2012.

COBB have themselves said that they will not be doing an AP for the BRZ, I'm not sure why we are beating this dead horse. They moved away from supporting NA platforms years back.

Emailed them to ask about it. This was their response:

We actually investigated the BRZ/FR-S platform when it was first released and we determined at that time that it didn't fit our company profile but it is something that we are going to reevaluate in the fairly near future again.

With the sales that the FRS/BRZ has been seeing, it could definitely be in Cobb's best interest to hit the market soon to establish themselves in the ft86 market for years to come. Amortize R&D costs against sales projections and market penetration over the next 5 years, I bet that any business major worth their weight would see that it's a net profit.
