All of this should have been standard on the 2013 for the $25k price...

1) Not really. I'm glad I won't have to pay another $3k-4k for what amount to luxuries. Especially what has been an largely negative user experience with the BeSpoke system. The 2014 Monogram is still, at its core, the same car as mine--mine just weighs a few pounds less, and still drives the same. My only true complaint is standard 2013 head unit. They should have come with the standard 2014 unit, IMO.

2) "Those who waited," if they get this car, will be paying more money, even base MSRP. Every buyer who didn't get a 2013 will be paying more money than I had to. For example, when I got my 2007 tC, it was about $16,900. The base price for the new ones are pushing $20k now. Its a different car at this point, but the MSRP for the FR-S has already increased twice, to my knowledge. Power bump allegedly scheduled for 2015 will increase the price as well. Yet here I will be, car mostly paid off, still tearing through curves and twisties with a stupid smile on my face.

I might have to at least go in and look at it. Although I'm so down for the group buy armrest either way.. I also am going to grab the leg padding. Those two things are horribly uncomfortable and my biggest two complaints. lol

Your car isn't suddenly worth less because there's another trim level coming out. It's worth the same amount, and the higher trim will be worth slightly more. Just like BRZ Premium vs Limited.

If it's pretty much the same as a BRZ Limited for about the same price, I would be interested for looks alone. Prefer the Toyota instrument panel/cluster.
My guess is the "leather seats" will be the same as the BRZ Limited as well as the GT86 outside the US. They will be leather with alcantara inserts. I really like the leather/alcantara combo, some of the most comfortable seats I have ever owned, but they really hold you in place unlike most leather seats.

Honestly, the more that I think about it now, I really really miss my Argento frs. It was such a bare bones car and that's what I loved about it. I've gotten the 10 series but I still miss turning the key, the old school radio and knobs. But you can't beat the climate control .

Actually, I'm surprised that nobody is bitching about the still-missing steering wheel radio controls.

True, but if the higher trim level becomes more desirable over time it could maintain a higher percentage of it's original value. Only time will tell and how the used car market values used FRS of all varieties in the future. Who knows, the original may be in higher demand. KBB trade value right now on my car with 11k miles on it is $19,333 in Good condition. I didn't have my used car mgr check Manheim's MMR to see what they are bringing at auction so I don't know what actual transaction prices are.

I am fortunate that my lease ends in June because in northeast PA, sports cars and other RWD's take a little bit of a hit coming into winter. My dealership has wholesalers that will buy that stuff off of us over the winter because they can get them cheaper and hold them until the spring. Color can effect resale value as well. I know a few years ago, yellow Jeep Wranglers would bring "all the money" at auction compared to similar Jeeps in a different color.

Long story short, we will all just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

For all the comments that says the 10-series people got shafted...i personally believe they are missing the point. Although the 10-series was a limited edition vehicle, the purpose of it wasn't to be the 'GT86' or to be closer to the BRZ in terms of features...its purpose was to celebrate Scion's 10 year anniversary since its inception. Which is why the glowing badges, paint job, silver seat belts, solar shift knob, etc are the same across on all the 10 series line up (xB, xD, tC, FR-S). Different limited series for different purposes.

just my thought.
