Is this implying that refunds will be given after we receive the product or when 100% of the information is provided on the actual product? If it's the former, who will be covering return shipping?

Will you have the final product in hand and be able to do a video review before the actual product is shipped to pre-orderers?

i don't understand how the the seller does not have any official photos of a product he's selling. that doesn't make sense to me. the photo posted on the 1st page is given by a member who has nothing to do with this sale.

if it indeed looks like the photo on page 1 i'm in for an order, but until then i'll hold off.

after reading through the thread, i'm understanding that these are replicas and not an officlal tom's product, correct?

That is correct.. They are a look a like of Tom's tail lights.. They look just like the picture, as that's what was on the helix Facebook page before Tom's required them to take it down as they were stating they were in fact Tom's.. At least this is what Jerry told me.. He can answer all your questions.. But everything he told me is that DEPO will be the only ones making authentic Tom's lights..

According to Jerry, these will NOT be stamped TOM's

I think with everything we have gathered thus far......... We can conclude these aren't toms but a HELIX variation of the toms.

I wish i knew that from the start because I would have put more thought into my preorder. I placed a preorder thinking I'd be getting a toms product not a replica. Even then i still like the style of these lights.

As of right now i preordered one but i definitely hope this is below the 400$ mark.

Toms are going for 450$ right now shipped from most places.

What i really want to know is, when will the preorder close? Is that determined by a set number helix wants to hit before they start production, or is production already on its way.

The way it was explained to me is that helix sent TOM's a set for purposal, TOM's rejected it.. He did not tell me why, he just stated they did not approve of the helix lights.. Like what was stated, helix makes great lights, they are quality. But these are not going to be a genuine TOM's licensed product.. According to Jerry.. I left his number and you can call and speak with him.. TOM's required helix to remove the pictures of the tail lights on their FB page, and not to market them as TOM's.. According to him they will not be stamped TOM's.. That's all the info I got from the guy.. As that's all I wanted to know.. I will wait around and see if TOM's official license these as this is what I want.. Or the price is where I feel is acceptable for a replica

Thanks for doing all the research on these...sounds like it was an attempt at Helix making legit TOM's that got rejected if that really is the case there is no way these should carry a price tag of $499. It really sucks that this was listed with the assumption that the Helix made ones would get approved but they didn't so now there are 30+ people expecting TOM's that are going to get some quality replicas at the same price as real ones? Man I was hoping these would be real but I guess only time will tell what they look like and what the cost will be

I think there should be an option provided for the people, who wants to opt out- if they are not interested at this point, with the current speculations.

Due to extremely lack of information and extremely supportive information, I like to opt out at this given point. As my existence in California, makes me pay "$499+tax+shipping + return shipping". Almost 1.5 times more for replicas than originals? I don't think that's a fair deal for a "group buy". Till my understanding- group buys are cheaper.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

Well, I think shipping is going to be factored into the final price like what most vendors do, what sucks for you and I is the TAXES.

If its a fair price for the replicas i dont mind, but if its hitting the 400-500 mark i think thats too expensive especially if real toms are at 450$ shipped from most vendors on here.

I still would like to see the end product though.

yes when we get the actual final product, people will be given the chance to decide if they want the lights or not.

like i said, price will be adjusted once final price is released . who knows it might just be $299.

return shipping? no need. lights wont be shipped to you if you decide not to take the lights after seeing the final product by september

also take note that you were only charged tax for $297 and not for $499

only time can tell. i believe negotiations are still on going.

Ill report back once i get a solid info from helix

I would like to opt out, too. Something about buying replicas just doesn't satisfy me.

I also would like to opt out if they are not "official TOM'S" and I'm not really wanting to wait until September some time. We still have no pictures of a real product, have a Tom's representative saying these are not an official Tom'S product, no official release date or when to expect them.

I personally would like a refund of my $299 as soon as possible so that I can get into the preorder for the real DOT approved TOM's. I'm tempted just to contact my credit card company right now and tell them that the product I was told I was buying was falsely advertised but I dont want to do that to you because you actually seem like a good guy so I'll hold off.

86_zn6; you still haven't even updated the thread title to reflect current information. At this point, I would assume that I shouldn't see any cost remainder or outstanding balance on my invoice for a set of knock-offs. If they cost more than the pre-order price, that'd be a bad thing.

I do like the tails, if you can get some official information/photos from helix by the end of the month, I'll still probably give you my money. But with my move cross country, I could use. $300 bucks for a few other things.
