Looks like I'm in as I just received my order confirmation email.

Comments: Still on the fence about the Subie until the prices are unveiled. After checking out the FR-S, I'm reconsidering it...if the price differential is significant enough.

What's surprising really is that with the number of members on this forum, there really are less than a 100 pre-orders. They sell more Camry's in an hour in this country. How can they expect this car to be a hit?

Yeah but it's only March 2nd, and it's a car that almost no one here has driven. And we don't have a real price. I'm pretty impressed with the amount people that have committed.

They must know the msrp then, they are just not releasing it. The dealership is getting 18 BRZ allocated to them; 2nd largest allocation in the state of Washington (as I'm told by another sales guy).
Carters is getting 20, and is charging MSRP... and only has 2 confirmed preorders. you should switch, save yourself a few grand. Chaplins is terrible...

They only expect to sell 3000-4000 cars in the US per year. It's not supposed to be a huge seller. Considering that the only real advertising that has been done for this car is a roped-off car at car shows, I think it's doing decently.

Nothing personal against you - but this just smells like a shady / retarded dealer. I don't think anything here warrants that they know MSRP - and I highly doubt the limited is only $1,200 more. Typical dealer just talking out of his ass

I've never really followed a car at launch like this before but having over 60 pre-orders on one forum on the first day seems like a lot to me. Really it doesn't matter because they have already determined how many are coming here in the first year and I am pretty sure they will all sell. The Subaru is not intended to be the sales leader, that's what they have the Scion for.

Yeah, they already have the numbers they are going to ship here. What the demand/pre-orders really do is give them an idea of how much they should make for the future. I think it will be awesome when it comes time to sell my car (if I ever do) I can say hey looky here I was 50th to pre-order this car on the largest FRS/BRZ forum around. The FRS/BRZ are just geared to completely different markets, so the camry vs FRS/BRZ sales arguments is like apples to oranges.
