Comments: I am order #1 for the initial 3 car allotment for this dealership and I've been told the other 2 were also spoken for shortly after I placed my order. I've been working with Kenan, hes been great. No markup over MSRP and they did not require a deposit either.

The explanation that they gave me was they will not have any extra cars on the lot, only the ones that were preordered. They said that they expect Subaru will fine them $500 if the customer backs out of the sale - so they can't put in fake orders, cancel saying the customer backed out, just so they can have extra stock.

That's wrong. They are allocated a specific amount in the first lot, so there is no such thing as "extra stock." They know how many they are getting between now and November, all they have to do is decide who gets them and put their options in the system. You can cancel your order any time between now and when it's built and there will be no penalty, they will just go to the next guy in line and put in a new order with his options. Once it's built, they can't cancel it, but they can still sell it to someone else just with the options you selected. Most likely what they would do is find someone in the system who has the same options as you and trade it to their dealer.

[ Mods are here removing things. I guess I got SOPA'd lol This post was directed to a series of exchange between another member and I that have since been removed ]

opinions are the problem lol everyone has their own and everyone thinks they're right.

each one of your arguments can be countered by reiterating a previous statement

I was proposing our forum act more like a group since there is power in numbers. I was showing a simple example of a simple act that can change and or affect future people while helping a member out.
If I see a review at a place saying "I don't like the shrimp here" I wouldn't care if I don't like shrimp. it's up to the customer and his or her opinion to decide if the review worthy. If Subaru notice there are lots of bad reviews they will take notice something is going on to upset us so much that we would find 49 people that believed the same way. Sure people make fake reviews and that's a bad way to get your message across, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying give the little guy a voice we're leading a voice to each of our other members in protest to support each other it's the first amendment after all.

Yup, my dealer already knows they will be getting 18 BRZ's this year only. And I specifically told my sales guy that if I don't like the test drive then I'm backing out. Well now the msrp mark up will make me back out too.....let's hope that doesn't happen.

1. 34 cars coming to Irvine Subaru.
2. Everyone on pre-order will get MSRP pricing.
3. Still no word on pricing.
4. They know options, but no price on those options.
5. They will definitely be asking for something like $5k over MSRP for those who didn't make the pre-order list.

Everything seemed ok until he said #5, which I think is BS. Even though I might not be affected by it, I still think it's a bad business practice.
hey, its not our problem.

if subaru Irvine is clear on the price. perhaps its time to discuss what other goodies we can get.

Well, I spoke to soon. Placed my order yesterday with a promise of no markup over MSRP and no deposit. Today I got a call saying that they wouldn't be able to place my order until they got a $2,500 deposit and that there will probably be a 10% markup over MSRP. Then I got the story about how the car is going to be rare and Subaru is requiring the markup from all of the dealers. So, looks like I probably won't be getting one. Subaru of Las Vegas should probably be added to the dealer blacklist.

Done and Done.

I get that dealers want to make extra money on this car, and that's fine. But I have a huge problem with sales people promising one thing and then at the last minute trying to screw us over.
