Do you guys think will find the clue on what toyota will name this car by the previews retro SUV like the FJ cruiser, Toyota FJ cruiser is the revival of the FJ40 chassis from the 60's the Land Cruiser family, I mean is if this car is revival of the AE86 chassis what will you call it?

If the FT-86 becomes the Toyota AE Coupe I'm sure it will hit the right notes if Toyota was going for a niche market like the FJ Cruiser. However I think it has been said too many times that the FT-86 production car is meant to be an exciting mass seller. In conclusion if it was called the Toyota AE Coupe I would like it and as long as the fans of the AE86 didn't think the production car was an abomination I think they might like it as well. Lol talk about a revival, hmm well think it was on the 4AGE topic that OldSkoolToys linked about the names meaning something in japanese, well how about magari=curve or something like that.
![]() Just think it should be a completely new name, the FT is in the spirit of the AE86 as everyone knows, but it is its own car, it should have its own name, so that way noone can bitch about it not living up the old corolla or old celica, because you know no matter how good this vehicle is or isn't there will always be people bitching that it didn't do the original justice. Yes this is made after the hachi roku, but I think it was more after what it stood for, not just that sole car, which was the light weight, RWD, well ballanced sports car. Just my 2¢. |

I'll take HR2, plux.
It fits the image and it's kinda sexy. Something new that harkens to the old school. |

a lot of hybrids use the H in their name though. Including Toyotas. I don't think they'd want to confuse everyone by using an "H" in the name. People would show up at the dealer and get all pissy because it's not a hybrid

GTS
Toyota ________ G-Sport
I'm guessing the top of the line model will have G, G-Series, G-Sport or GT-S at the end of it especially it they offer the same or a similar conversion to the concept displayed in Tokyo. I like 'G-Sport,' without the r. Wait ... 'Turbo G-Spot,' I'm sure the ladies will like it. |
