You don't think I'm aware of that? Again, owned and drove a 350z with factory HID's. But it's not a "ohmygoditdoesnthaveHIDsIcantbuyit" feature.

I've never been in a Z at night, but the S2000 vs my projector Halogen's in the Integras was incredibly obvious and why I run HIDs in my ITR now (just PNP though until I find a nice *clean* set of OEM 94-97 headlights locally).

That wasn't what I was pointing out. Pointing out that it's not a Red Flag, I'm not going to buy the car feature that people keep posting about. Same goes for the Push-start.

What asshole designs a strictly performance car and waits to deliver an actual performance model.
This would be idiotic on behalf of sub/toyota.

We all know a performance vehicle is coming out, but confirming it would not help their initial sales of this vehicle. Say the first model of this car fails completely and miserably, the companies would then just not even try to improve this car.

Its like if... Apple releases the Iphone 4S on Sept 5 and on the same day they annouce they're releasing the iphone 5, that would hurt the sales of the Iphone 4s because people might wait.

HUD. i know HID's are expensive to replace as well, at least for MINI's ($500 per headlight).

Different people have different needs. I think it's a need, not a want. Just like to some people a turbo is a need.

This car isn't expected to have a HUD is it? I wouldn't assume it wouldn't be cheap to replace if it did.

+1 on what Dave mentioned! I just bought a projector set from TRS and going to retrofit my Tacoma headlights. If you are going to run an HID kit, the only effective way is use projectors. 6000 Kelvin is way too blue and is less brighter. I'm going with 4300K which is closer to D65 Daylight.

Here is an example

**Back on topic**

Thanks for the pics Hachi! Do they plan to announce the price during the show?

no. they're just talking about the possibility if Toyota/Subaru were to offer it or getting some sort of an aftermarket setup to install in the car.

Spoiler on the covered car is too tall to be the Nurburgring version, 99% sure it's Gushi's drift car.

So, yeah, using the hands free technology is marginally better. However, it's still dangerous, and auto-makers shouldn't be enabling dangerous behavior.
Can't argue with that, however there is a difference between distracted driving, which includes any kind of distraction, and texting/updating a website while driving, which to quote that site " requires visual, manual, and cognitive attention from the driver." This is by far more dangerous than simply talking to your radio which is the same as talking a passenger. I think we can all agree talking to your passenger shouldn't be illegal. Instead of making laws to ban all kinds of distracted driving, which would be largely ignored, we should encourage technology like this that makes these kinds of activities much safer. The facebook/twitter stuff I could care less about, but I have to ignore texts on a regular basis while I'm driving, so I would use a system like this all the time. Even entering a nav address would be much safer and more convenient.

The TSX projectors are highly regarded in the retrofit community but the S2000 ones are still regarded as the best. They just cost 2x as much as TSX ones so you see TSX ones more.

Skinfn on here runs a real retrofit company (customlightz) so if he's reading this he can provide more detailed info but the S2K are considered the best OEM projectors.

FXR's are great retrofit projectors and they are bixenon, which is the route I'd go for a retrofit probably.

Gotcha. I misread I guess, I had thought you said there wasn't a noticable difference.

As I posted elsewhere, that's why options are great. Don't slam them, let people get whatever options they want.

I had TSX projectors i was going to use in my RX7 but never got around to it. Those projectors have a beautiful clean cutoff, not many projectors iv seen have the same if not better cutoff and range for the price point.

Not that I've ever seen before. I highly, highly doubt it. I certainly would leave that option box unchecked.
