Yeah, way cheaper, probably a good bit lighter, doesn't hold heat. All wins. curious how the tuning will turn out for that part.

Excuse my lack of knowledge with all of this tuning stuff. It is very new to me as I am much more a mechanical person compared to software.

I was able to fill up with e85. I have been running with the tune for about 2 days now. Took the log yesterday.

http://datazap.me/u/wiebtech-perform...l?log=0&data=1

ROM is (Stage 2 UEL E85 ZA1JA01C) is that the info you need?

Are you on V1.55? or 1.56b? (i haven't checked the differences between them i just know there are two files). And thanks for giving me full rom ID it helps!

v1.42 actually. I wasn't sure how complete the beta files were. Are the v1.55 any different then the off the shelf maps? or just also available in .bin format?

Thanks!

How many gallons of E85 did you add to your tank and how many miles on this rom?

I am seeing a bit of FLKC (minor but on E85 I don't like seeing this at all personally, each tuner is different). @ 7200RPM on the first pull which you can see the KC learn value dropping to 4.22* when v1.55 targets 5.27*. And then in the second pull @ 6800 you see the same pattern of minor pull back. The quick "dip" is a sign of fine learning knock correction typically, or a not very smooth advance map. You don't have to have a smooth advance map at all by any means it is simply just useful for diagnosing knock without FLKC logging. The Stage 2 EL E85 map is fairly smooth if you open up the ignition table and view the advance one you will see what I a mean as it is pretty flat but you are seeing lower advance than that. It is not enough to pull your advanced multiplier and that is good. But if this was a partial fill up I would keep it easy until you fill up again and verify if the problem is still there and see if the fuel trims take care of your fuel enrichment issues as you are quite a bit off of the target AFR (nearly an entire AFR).

Let me pull up the 1.42, i just compared yours agains the 1.55.... which means im using the COMPLETELY wrong advance / target maps. This is why its important to have target AFR logged and FLKC logged or knowing the exact rom. Give me a moment to review again.

Looks like the maps are the same (or close, I just glanced) between those version numbers for UEL E85. So my original post still stands. Your logs aren't anything of great concern but if it doesn't smooth out after a tank of gas I would consider altering the MAF & ignition target tables slightly to compensate as I personally. don't like seeing any signs of FLKC on E85 as the octane is significantly higher. However this can also be picked up from mechanical noise in rare times as I have seen dump pipes & headers tapping things giving false FLKC in the past.

Thanks a ton for looking at it. Im am just figuring out Romraider and getting everything working on my Mac. Now I can finally view everything, I will give a go at editing.

Unfortunately, e85 is not readily available to me. I filled up with 11.6 gallons of e85 on saturday and then drove 45 miles home under 3k. Ive opened it up a little, mainly to do a log, but other then that I'm taking it pretty easy. I guess I will have to wait until I can do a few tanks of e85 before I get serious.

The 91 tune I was running earlier was also running a bit rich though. Im going to go back to my stock intake this weekend though and do some logs and see what I need to adjust after that.

If you can also log target AFR instead of say port injection time so that way you can easily compare how far off your AFR is. However your KC Learn value is sitting at a smooth 3.16 under what I am "guessing" is WOT and heavy load which is good. But I am really guessing in the dark with this log.

I would go to 91 octane map flush through 2 tanks of gas (or get it to E and cycle low bits of fuel to flush it out driving conservatively under 3,200RPM will consume evenly between DI & Port for the first few miles per fillup) and then dial in your MAF from there. It is harder to deal with fueling error on E85 as your ethanol content can be up / down depending on the fillup. You will have less fueling error on pump as the ethanol content is typically fairly consistent. In my area its typically 7-8% consistently at most pumps and the fueling error between that 1% ethanol change is very minimal.

The octane boost of E50 alone should be more than you need NA so even then the ignition timing may still need to be pulled slightly even if you were blended below E70(winter blend)

The filter typically doesn't alter the MAF reading enough to need much tweaking if any. I haven't used shiv's maps much but in my own testing the difference between filters made a very marginal difference in MAF tweaks. I would say you should be just fine. I typically recommend people just do a drop in filter vs a full intake as the maf is easier to deal with and it is significantly cheaper.
