You probably have an auto, too? Not saying that's a bad choice, but it also hurts the 0-60 time... you stated your goals are to look cool and be economical. If you properly learn how to launch this car (with a manual) it can be decently quick- faster than most cars out there, besides uprated sports models, if you do your job right, but the street is really not the place for that kind of behavior. With stock tires, you can easily peel out and get a ticket or just wear your tires out quickly with not much to show for it. If you want to have good straightline speed, add boost, or trade your car in on something like an used mustang GT or something.

I had an auto and the m/t is much better for street racing.

(Sarcastic, I never street race this car... Just like to driver her hard!)

While its fun keeping her up in the rev range and going fast I feel more compelled to take her on the back roads in my area and try to drift her around corners. Turning on sport mode lets me have enough fun to raise my hairs without letting me kill myself (or damage my baby)

You know what's more embarrassing? Beating a piece of shit Grand Am and getting pulled over by an undercover cop and being pointed at and getting laughed at as he drives away with not even a slap on his wrists.

sad

People do this all the time to me.
I still win.
pick your battles. you can always tell when someone is gonna be a douche and try to drag race you.
- is there car an automatic? usually a win
- is there car 4d, 2d, and whats the weight and the length of strip your driving/racing?

The brz is a fast lightweight 2 door coupe and if you use it right, you can win against higher horsepowers. I've beaten g37s, 350z's, civics, etc. But heck i've lost to a 1992 beamer 3 series, didn't know it was turbo (some catch you by surprise).

This is way more fun than stop light racing! And it's legal! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a street racer standing on the corner as a tow truck hauls off their car while the police hand them a ticket that will surely cost them their license for a bit.

There are so many people who mistook the car for what it is. This car is not about Power, or Straight line Drag. This car is About

HOBBY
-Balancing acts, to Grip the Corners
-Easy Drift to Drift + Drag your ass around the Corner as Fast and Furious Movie (Just turn o Traction Control)
-Cheap Accessory to buy when you do Race (no need for Expensive Tires, or Break Pad, rotors)

This car as a Hobby was meant for you to Practice the Shit out of it in a race track without Breaking your Bank Period...This is where you feel the Race

****Those can only be done in RACING TRACK****

If you Purchased the car for Daily Driver, you have the following

-New Sleek, attractive looking Coupe
-Cool Rear Wheel Drive, Unpractical during Winter
-Reliability of a Toyota + Subaru together
-Cheap Maintenance
-Adequate Power to be on the highway, and passing
-Very Fuel Economical

So do not Mistaken the car for any Powerful Machine out there. If you want a Simply Powerful car, which you can Drag with...You have BOUGHT the wrong VEHICLE!!!!!!!!

*******By the way**********

Whoever need to trade their FRS for my Monster 500HP AWD AWS VR4...Pm me. I need a Daily Driver

Very good points!

The thing is that a lot of people forget about this car - this car can be made very fast.

Yes, its going to be expensive. But its a brand platform, sexy, and popular so that's a given.

But if you put a turbo on this car its going to be able to compete with much more expensive cars on the track. Just something to keep in mind. Yes its stupid to buy this car for the power (stock), but modded it can be a very fast car.

Adding power to this car doesn't mean your making it something its not... Its a light rwd coupe, people have been modding cars like this for ages because they're pretty easy to go fast and very fun... Look at how much ls1 swaps, or turbo miatas there are. Sure a lot of people think its silly but I'm sure if you drove one you'd agree, a modded light rwd coupe will make one hell of a car

Just for the record, I poop faster than a Grand Am. So it either wasn't stock or the OP can't drive.

Either way, the FRS was never meant to be a light-to-light champion.

You have the unichip, wait till e85 comes out. That should help you with your low end torque problem...I think.

Hmm, my advice would be to find a beautiful woman and make love to her (the kind that leaves her weak in the knees). Then rest up and do it again. If you can't do this then by all means buy parts to make your car go faster in order to feel like a man.

I did that before to some douche trying to race me in my Evo. I hit the two step a few times to get him fired up. Then, I just normally drove when the light turned green. The douche next to me launched and flew right past a cop only to get pulled over. It was hilarious.
