IIRC TRD parts imported from Japan, providing they are legit TRD and not a knockoff, are still covered under Toyota warranty here. Probably your best bet if they don't release them here. There are a few Toyota dealers in Australia who are willing to import genuine parts from Japan too. Castle Hill Toyota got me a heap of stuff for my Aristo.

I'll beleive this when I see it at a dealer with my own two eyes. Until then I'm convinced that Toyota Aus is going to Shaft us in some way whether it be in price or ADM Spec weight etc.

on toyota.com.au is enough for me.

the ADM weight can't be too much higher than the JDM high spec. we are likely to lose features than gain.

You know what I mean though somehow we will get shafted in some way, I just have a feeling, on paper though its shaping up to be quite good.

The 30k-35k is not from a dealer, my friend (who is also looking at getting this car) has a direct relative high up in Toyota australia, said 30k-35k.

I was out with him last night, started talking about the car, and it all came out I asked him about a name he said he doesn't know and I was telling him about all the leaks that have been coming out and he said he know basic specs like weight, power etc for ages... he'd been holding out on me this whole time!

Anyway, I know not to count my chickens before they've hatched but this car is looking ****ing awesome

so the leaked spec are about right with what your fd heard?

30-35k + onroad is a reasonable price pending equipment.

I'd agree with that.

I'm happy that there isn't a lot of people in the aussie price thread complaining about how it's not going to be ~20k, haha. Most people seem to have a pretty level head on what to expect it to retail at, although most seem to agree that we're highly likely to get shafted.

$32-34k + ORC is my bet for the base model!

I am still betting we will get shafted like always!

It will bet it's over 40k drive away.

Let's put this into perspective. Back in their day, an old Celica or 240Z weren't cheap cars. Adjusted for inflation and current average wages, they were more expensive than an RX8 is today.

The BRZ will be cheaper than an RX8. Much cheaper.

It will cost about half what a 135i costs and much less than half an M1.

It will be less than a third the price of an Evora and about a quarter what an Evora S or TT RS costs.

You'd be able to buy at least 7 or 8 BRZs for around the same as what a base model 911 sets you back.

It will be a cheap car. Cheaper in the USA, but seriously what isn't? There's got to be a reason anyone stays there.

If you're whinging about the price, it's because you can afford to buy a keyboard, but not a new sports car. Buy an old sports car or a new Hyundai.

Yeah, I had noticed that too.

Who on here is not just wishing, but will definitely be ready to buy on release regardless of whether it costs $30k, $35k or $40k?

When the time comes (no point now), we should catch up and use that to our advantage.
