"OE fit" & "factory fit" appear to signal the proper bore size, but you still need to check.

The key to steelies in addition to 5x100 is "hubcentric" with a "56.1 mm bore size". We know that 16" wheels should fit because the spare is actually a 16" wheel.

As previously discussed two steel wheel codes that appear to reflect 56.1 bore dimensions appear to be:

x66008 50mm offset
x66008-1 42 mm offset
x40867 references appear inconsistent sometimes regarding dimensions.

What I think you do not want are steel wheels with a bore of 57.1 as I do not believe these are hubcentric?
Ya the universal stuff is garbage. I know that alot the shops store get thier stuff from http://www.macpek.com/

My buddies owns a performance shop here & got me a set of steelies with some general altimax for $950 all in. People say "why would you want to buy those" but honestly they will do the job & reviews are pretty good so why not.

I was under the impression that the one's I bought weren't universal, that they would be the best fit. I might be wrong in my assumption? :P Nobody else has tried these out on their car yet?

I got mine in Friday. They'd be on my car, except that I don't have my car yet.

Get your tires on them yet or waiting? I'm wondering if I should pay a place to put the tires on the wheels and then get a friend to swap them for me or just get a tire place to do it all.

I guess this year I'll get a tire place to do it all and then switch it up in the future. I should really get the stuff to do it myself. :P

I got a set of 16" Pirelli Winter Carving Edge tires on steelies. The tires are still new but they are slipping sometimes when turning and then accelerating. I notice the traction control is coming on. Is this normal? I don't have much experience with RWD cars. Or do the tires need more breaking in? or these tires bad? The shop recommended these but I kinda want to send them back.

I'm also new to RWD cars also but I think new tires in general just need a short break in period. Thing about winter tires is they do not grip as well on pavement.

I have those tires on my yaris- and have nothing bad to say about them. I know its a totally different application but they were good when i was using them for the couple days we had snow last year lol.

I can confirm that the X66008, 16"x6.5", 5x100, 50mm offset, steel rims are indeed 56.1 mm bore, so hubcentre. My black steel wheels arrived last week with 205/55R-16 Xice XI3's mounted and balanced and ready to go!

After mounting I plastidipped the rear axle centre nuts to protect against the elements. Still thinking about a centre cap if I could find one.

They ride pretty good so far, just no snow to test them in!

Oops, forgot to say no TPMS and no light yet. Will report back on this one.

cheers:happy0180:

...Forgot where, but I heard it takes the system about 100 KM before it can read the problem and then throw the TPMS light...

My light came on right away, might have been because the sensors were in the car in a bag though.

I have done ~150KM on my Winter tires/rims and have yet to get a TPMS light. I'm really not sure why.

It takes a while to get it, maybe you didn't drive long enough in 1 trip.
