I know, I dated a Puerto Rican woman in college. Stunning good looks, great family but Good God, what an emotional roller coaster. I loved every minute of it until the relationship blew up in spectacular fashion.

Uh oh. What would that mean then for those whose dealers were given mid-July delivery, or August for Scion TC ('14)? Are these FR-S going to sit at POE until every dealer can be allocated some? Hope not, they should have just starting making them earlier.

I understand the unfairness of some people getting their vehicles earlier. I also have no problem with being given a date of delivery for July, even though it sucks to wait. I just hope there's no delays and false hope being given. And delays could also mean issues I feel for those of you who's vehicle is so close but stuck for unknown issues at POE. Hang in there, hope to hear some good news soon!

We will all be laughing and :happy0180: looking back at this waiting/issue period when the first 10 Series megameet is held. Hey, I can dream of such things right

Oh, I thought all Series 10's were scheduled for June delivery. But like you say, hang in there, we have 18 days, 3 hours and 12 minutes left in June, more or less.

Just came back from stalking the port facility again, and noticed a few things:

Lots of cars were no longer there, as suspected.

Cars had stickers on the windows that I don't recall seeing on Monday.

Many sections of cars had 1 windshield wiper popped up just on the end of the row cars.

My guess at this point is that there was a hold-up on inspections. Lots of new cars all at once, not enough inspectors. I'm guessing the stickers are inspection related.

The FR-Ses are very much at the back of the lot, with respect to the direction the cars have cleared out since Monday night. All of the ones close to the street are the standard edition, but I spotted 2 at a distance, by themselves, that at least appeared silver. They were too far away, and the lighting very bad, so it was hard to tell which headlights they had. They looked darker, but it was hard to tell if that was just the distance and proximity to lights playing tricks on the eyes.

I doubt anything to worry about is going on. I'm thinking they just took more time than expected to get through inspections and happen to be at the back of the line for getting on a truck.

At the rate the lot has cleared out over 2 days, it looks like they should be able to clear out the lot by the end of the week.

That would jibe w/ my scheduled ship date of 6/16 for its boat ride over.

In case it wasn't mentioned, Silver Ignition is code J8A for those curious about comparing paints colors. I don't think Lexus has this.

There is a chance I might give up my spot in case people in So Cal are interested in an AT, I'm about 65% on it atm.

LOL this is what was said at the New York unveiling and all the press releases, but unfortunately many of us have been given July or later or other models.

For the member who mentioned he was getting the FR-S and IQ 10 Series. Are they to be arriving at same time, and when?

Where I work this means don't move or touch until inspector or quality assurance rep has cleared it/signed off. That or the vehicle has had issues and it went into bodyshop/mechanical to get fixed and it is waiting for re-inspection. POE might work different.

Update from Madison: My 10 Series is inventory status "A". Also, my salesperson confirmed (via the Toyota Rep) what was being speculated earlier in this thread - that the 10 series is following distribution practices similar to what is used with the "release series". Those practices are that Toyota works to have the cars land at all the receiving dealers at around the same time. I am being told to continue to rent my Toyota for at least another two weeks. (Traded in my '09 BMW 335i mt with sport package). Cheers!

Hey, we'll both be happy campers if that is the case!

I wish to correct an earlier post... My vehicle was built on May 10th, but SHIPPED from Japan on May 24th with a destination of Portland, OR. So hopefully it is indoors next to all the others destined for northern destinations. However, I'll bet it is outdoors with seagull crap all over the paint! Oh well, that's what detailing clay and Autogeek Wolfgang Sealant is for!

Only outdoor storage at Portland, but it's 90 miles upriver so few seagulls.

They usually leave the white mylar film on the horizontal surfaces that was applied in Japan in place until right before POE processing and staging for truck or rail. Also, the rail cars are enclosed for more protection.

The problem that can develop at Portland is if the mylar is removed for awhile and then it rains followed by sunny days like we've had this month. The drying raindrops act as small magnifying glasses that, along with industrial fallout, can etch the clearcoat. It's easier to feel than see, so at delivery run your fingertips over the roof and hood. It should feel like a clean mirror. If not, it's detail time.

Either way, I'm still going to polish and wax with Griot's machine process during the first week of ownership to get the best reflectivity and durability.

AUTOGEEK FTW! I recently spent 500$ worth of detailing equipment from there in anticipation for my FR-S! I bought snowfoam lance, chemical guys honeydew, chemical guys fabric protector (that is AWESOME, tested it on a shirt...it WONT get wet at all!!), opticoat, portercable with different grit buffer pads, meguiars goodies (wash, compound, polish, pre-wax, clay) sheep wool mits... I love detailing . Told my dealer NOT TO REMOVE the white tape it comes with. Will opticoat immediatley after getting home

Let me tell you snow foam is excellent at removing loose dirt and cleaninf under fenders and hard to reach places, especially if the car is waxed. (its also good to soak you girlfriend )
