Going to install these when I do my Wilwood kit May 30th (saving my back from tire removal, reinstall, etc).

Thinking about middle stickers in the meantime....

Hey guys. I was doing some research on caps and rings for the tc105n's that I just purchased for my 2012 Legacy GT and came across this thread during my search. I have a set in 18x8.5. Legacies also have a 5x100 bolt pattern, and it looks like all Subarus share the same hub diameter. Which leads me to registering here to ask a couple questions....

Is there anything stopping the pieces that you've had made from not fitting onto my car (besides not possessing them)? Do you have the dimensions handy so that I could have someone duplicate a set for my wheels? Barring that and any forum rules concerning new members and purchases that I've yet to find, do you still have a set available and is there a way for me to purchase them?

With a plain cap, I'll probably end up ordering some vinyl logos of some sort to stick on there, so I don't particularly care what color they are.

I don't think all the sets are sold, and I am 99% sure they will fit on your car.

Yup, I'm about 99% sure as well. I'm down for ordering a set if someone can say for sure one is available, unless someone thinks they won't fit for some reason. Otherwise, I'd be happy to make myself a set if someone (kask?) could provide the dimensions used.

Why reinvent the wheel (cap) if someone has already done the engineering for it?

A few sets of plain aluminum caps are still available. These should fit all 5x100 TC105n's and a 56.1 mm hub diameter.

Thanks Kask, received these a while back and did a test-fit about a week ago. They fit perfectly on the 2012 Legacy. I think they'd probably fit on any Subaru that's rocking some 5x100 TC105n's.

I just dropped the caps off to get anodized to help protect the metal and darken them to something resembling dark grey. Also ordered some custom vinyl to put on them. Only decision I have left is if I want to clear coat the caps before I put the vinyl on, after I put the vinyl on, or not at all.

Glad you like them

For those of you that are painting them remember to only paint the surfaces in front of the step (cap portion). If the hubcentric ring portion of the cap is painted they may or not fit back in your wheel.

I'll call the place tomorrow to ensure that they leave the inside of the cap alone. Is it sufficient to just have them do the outside of the cap from the face down to the edge of the lip? Like what is visible in the picture you posted? Is there any other part of the surface I can have them anodize?

The entire part can be anodized without any issues. Anodizing is very thin so you shouldn't have any issues there.

Some people previously mentioned that they would be painting, or in your case clear coating the caps. Paint can be much thicker than anodizing and could make a very tight fit. So if they were to be painted only paint the face down to the step (red line in pic below). This smaller diameter doesn't fit snug in the wheel like the other portion of the cap.

I picked up my caps from the anodizing place. They feel a little tacky/sticky to the touch, but look great otherwise. Is this normal? Or should they have been sealed? And will there be any issues if I attempt to stick some vinyl graphics onto them?

Can you provide details on the process you had done for the black caps?
