Anyone have a DDM tuning HID Kit?

hey guys,

i purchased a DDM tuning HID kit with 6000k bulbs last October. Seeing that it hasnt even been a year, the past month or so one of my bulbs have been flickering on and off. I've switch the bulbs to different ballasts and determined that it is a bulb issue for sure, because the same bulb continues to work sometimes, and not. Anyone have problems with this? I've contacted customer support with DDM and they want me to send it the bulb for a warranty replacement, i just want to make sure its actually the bulb that isnt functioning and not something that is a compatibility issue with the FR-S.

Its the bulb. I live 15 minutes from DDM and I can confirm its some rebadged made in china product. They're so cheap that they still profit after warranty work. I've gone through three sets and have had problems with each. If you don't mind dealing with it, go for it, but personally they're not worth my $35.

thats what I assumed. It didint seem like it was a quality kit, but for the price, i went for it. I'm pleased with the light out put and all that, just kinda irked that it already crapped out on me. Did you end up getting a new kit? If so, where from?

There are many HID conversion kits out there and if you invest in a high quality HID kit, you save more money in the long-run and save the hassle of removal and re-installation. Check out our HID comparison to see the difference:

Morimoto HID's are the way to go from TheRetrofit source

Get what you pay for

stay away from DDMtuning you will just go thru bulbs/ballasts

I have DDM, 0 issues as of yet and its approaching a year. I have gone through 50$ halogen bulbs every couple of months, so paying 35 for hid's and getting this much life out of it is worth it to me. The light quality is honestly the same as kits that cost 3-4x as much, cheap or not, high intensity discharge bulbs all work the same.

Just picked up the hid kit today along with led turn signals and reverse lights. Going to install them this week. I am worried about their quality but hopefully it works out! Plus I think they have a lifetime warranty? Customer service in HB location was crap though. Don't expect anyone helpful, or maybe that was just me...

i work in newport beach so would it make sense for me to send it in for a warranty bulb and wait a week or two for them to receive the defective bulb, then wait another week or two for a new one to come back? Can i just go to the HB location and pick up a new h11 bulb and just have them replace it?

most people I've heard of steer away from ddm tuning kids but if your trying to save some money then why not. Still better than stock

I've had my 6000K for almost a year and it works no problem at all. It could be just a bad bulb

DDM's customer service is horrid. I live close as well and just drop in to get my stuff. For $35, you can't really complain. I've never had issues with any of my bulbs and usually get years out of them before they quit.

I try and have as limited contact with their sales people as possible. I just go in there with my part number and temperature, get in, get out.
