Lol I scraped hard backing out of the pub lot but just figured what the heck it's getting replaced soon
I heard the people on the patio gasp hahaAnd what's with that stupid bridge??? Single left turn lane and that other lane merging and they had the freaking single lane back to Ontario when it was obviously busier that way - asses 20mins to get from the golf course to the parkway?? I look a fool dodging manhole covers and bumps eh? Lol Good times today though, you are a good bunch to hang with. I hope to go to more events with you guys. Cheers Ken |

Saw a few of you guys drop by the auto cross school. While the students were in the class in the morning, we had about an hour to play. The lot was still wet, so I did a few loops around the circles. It's incredibly easy to drift in the wet. I'm not sure how many times I went around the loop, but it was very easy to modulate. It didn't seem like the car "wanted" to be out there, and it was easy to bring it back under control. A bit of fun, and I'm sure if I try hard enough, I'll be done with the OEM tires by the end of the summer.

I used VHT, a specialty automotive paint from crappy tire. As you can see I haven't put my reverse light back in yet. Clean well then wet sand with some 1500 grit, don't be a dumbass like me and an with 400 grit because its the finest you have in your garage!
. Turned out pretty nice on my second attempt.

Hi Norman,
I followed one of the DIY threads on this Forum. Similar to what 86gt? did. Three light coats, then two heavy coats of VHT Nite-Shades. Wet sand with 2000 grit, then three coats of Clear, sand some more. Finish with Meguiar's Polish. While the taillights were out, I decided to replace the Gaskets. Another DIY thread, but I used 1/4 inch cork, cut to a template I downloaded, and sealed with Silicone. After the first car was, I the left taillight became the notorious fishbowl. So I cut another template and assembled with more care. So far, all is good. Looks Great!!!! |

FYI to all the ottawa guys:
I am taking my car it to the dealer tomorrow (Tony Graham on Huntclub) to have my right tail light replaced (fishbowled). I also mentioned to them that I had the infamous crickets coming from the fuel pump, and a few other issues like the pinching window seals an rattling door speakers. After just mentioning this to the service manager on the phone, he said "no problem ill order you new tail lights and a fuel pump that's supposed to fix the crickets and we will replace them when you come in for your appointment. We will also look at your other issues and determine a course of action." Well the appointment is tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes, if the crickets are gone, and what they might do about my other minor issues. |
