I agree sooo very much.. But then my retrofit is a million times better then what Toyota/Subaru is installing as projectors.. That's a good cut off and lines up perfect... What is that if you don't mind me asking?? The 530??

Believe me, as I've posted recently after being notified that my car is delayed for weeks, I was within minutes of canceling the order for a better equipped BRZ inbound to a local dealer.

But after putting things into perspective thanks to several members here, reconsidering resale since I go through cars so often and lastly weighing warranty service either from a franchise perpetually on the verge of bankruptcy watching warranty costs or a deep pocket alternative wanting to please in the hopes of capturing buyers for the Scion/Toyota/Lexus upgrade cycle, I'm waiting. Not to mention that I prefer the FR-S styling.

I have a years long relationship with my Toyota dealership where everybody knows my name and bends over backwards to take care of me. For example, my out of warranty FJ Cruiser needed a new clutch recently, an $1,800 job they covered 100% with a goodwill adjustment. That sort of courtesy breeds brand loyalty that would take years to cultivate with a Subaru dealership that may well be gone tomorrow.

Then there's the dealer network and availability of service while traveling. I'll be taking the FR-S on extended road trips and after research posted here found that Scion has twice as many franchised dealers in CA and US as Subaru. Important should the car need either scheduled or other maintenance or repair.

Also, for some reason the quotes I got for insurance are substantially less for an FR-S compared to a BRZ. No idea why, but something places the BRZ into the sports car premium category while the FR-S is in the econobox category...for now.

Online pic... mine is close, but my drivers side headlight is broken and it's pointing down... Need to get some time to open it up and epoxy it, at least its pointing down to not blind anyone and the left side lights up enough to cover the road perfectly

This is my bimmers cutoff

Seems like a very well thought out decision. Hopefully you will get the car soon, they are a total blast. I keep finding reasons to run errands in mine

@Luis_GT, my left cut off is a degree or so off, so you can see it angled just a bit.. Annoying for sure, TRS has a new projector out I really wanna try.. Nice color band and a very very sharp cutoff.. Everyone wants me to step up to the 6k bulbs but I feel as if I have better "depth" with my 5k

I have 5K as well, love em!

I upgraded the lenses with FX from TRS a few years ago, that's why it has a sharp cut off... I still have the original projectors in a cabinet... but the lens was pure garbage... it had the poor tree trunk ring finish so they weren't as bright as I have now.

No luck with my trip out stalking the dealer and the port facility (of course).

I did spy a number of FR-Ses at the port, but didn't see any that were the 10 Series. I saw a number of 2014 tCs. However, even at 9:30 PM, there were car-carrier trucks actively loading up.

I have officially given up for today. Hopefully my luck will change for the better in the morning...

if the 10 series was offered leather alcantra seat, I would jump on the deal in a heartbeat.

Dude the FRS LE looks great, I'm excited for you and look forward to seeing you guys post some pics of it when you get it, but be a ease with your decision, no need to exaggerate Subaru's financial situation or dealer network to justify your decision, I think either car will be easy to get serviced, especially here in the PNW where every other car seems to be a Subaru or a Toyota.

I love how people come in this thread bashing how they wouldn't want the features the 10 series has. Push button sucks, DRLs suck, silver ignition is bland, autozone badges and so on. Call me a ricer but I love all of the features and so do the other 2500 soon to be owners.

...end rant...

My beef with the commercials is that they made a big mistake in casting terrible actors who probably know next to nothing about the cars instead of passionate owners. At least the awkwardness in the videos would have been genuine then.
