I found this funny. I was taking an online course for defensive driving, and I missed the question "What is the first letter of the make of your vehicle?".

They don't consider Scion a make. They consider it a line.... We have a Toyota! I guess this justifies rebadging the car with Toyota emblems.

Because of this I was locked out.

No no... You can fail 7 verification questions. This made number 2 which locked me out and required a call.

Does anyone know any other instances where businesses don't recognize Scion as a manufacturer?

When I did mine I happened to have my tax ID with me and selected Toyota and it went through. Funny that you tried Scion and it failed.

Does Lexus registration say Toyota? Infiniti say Nissan?

I would guess yes based off of this.

Same here. According to my registration I drive a Toyota ScionFRS. My insurance company had a lot of trouble with this.

I owned an Infinti, it said Infiniti.
