weekend is supposed to be nice, Alki beach is pretty nice when we have good weather. it's got sort of a small town feel, but you look across the water and it's DT seattle. it all kind of depends on what you like to do

you can canoe some of Lake Washington, the University of Washington WAC center rents them out, pretty cheap if I remember correctly, like $6 for students and a few bucks more for public.

the science center / EMP is a pretty great day trip if you've never been before. I haven't been yet, but I hear the Dave Chihuly glass museum is amazing (if you're into that stuff).

Sorry, someone's gotta say it... It's PIKE Place, not "Pike's Place." Seattleite Snob, I know. lol.

There's also The Seattle Great Wheel which is on the waterfront and a short walk from the market. While you're there, you can find a chill spot to eat and a few little stores to browse.

Other points of interest:
-- Seattle Underground Tour
-- The original Starbucks (directly across the street from the market)
-- Kerry Park has a great viewpoint if you can find it in a reasonable amount of time
-- Driving the Alaskan Way Viaduct while it's still there (pretty cool views too)
-- ****'s Drive-In (In-N-Out is way better IMO, but this is all about the "local experience")
-- Fremont Troll & giant statue of Lenin
-- The Monorail (beware, it's suuuper short)

One of my most favorite places to eat is Pam's Kitchen in University District. It's Trinidadian food and totally worth your time if you like spicy food! I think that's all for now....

You can pay like $7 to go to the top of the Columbia Tower. Best view in Seattle. Then you could cross 520 to Woodinville and to the beer and wine tour.

My dad lives next to pike place so I'm there a few times a week and it really never gets old even though it's touristy. Thwre is Gasworks Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park. You can rent canoes at the UW Activities Center next to the football stadium and paddle on Lake WA.

I don't suggest Beths or Din Tai Fung. Beths is only fun if you want to say you ate a crapload of food. Din Tai Fung is overrated and the original one in Taiwan is way better. Go to a Tom Douglas restaurant!!! There are 3 at the end of Pike Place and a few others downtown. Check the website his food is amazing.

Actually, I think ANY of the DTFs outside this one in Bellevue is better. They try so hard to make this an upscale place, when it's really the McDonalds of soup dumplings elsewhere. Be warned though, you're usually looking at a wait time of an hour or so...

There's this other place I frequent - Kukai Ramen (http://www.kukai-ramen.com/) - if you get there at 6PM or before, you'll miss the rush and it's REALLY good IMHO. If you have to wait, no problems - get your name down and head to Wing Stop at the corner and munch on some wings while you wait!

Cheers!

have you tried Aloha Ramen in Greenwood? I love that place, but haven't been to Kukai which is pretty close to where I live... I'll have to stop by sometime soon!

I have, and I'm still more partial to Samurai Ramen than Aloha's. Kukai FTW though!

Def go to Facing East in Bellevue. Really good Taiwanese food. I recommend getting the pork stew over rice bowl. So simple yet so good!
