There's no need to do something silly like lowering a car onto a disassembled strut.
Yup I agree. When he told me he did it that way, I told him to jack his car up and I would re-do it. Guy didn't have much experience on cars but he is learning. Had to show him that the right way was not that hard. Helps if you have the right tools as well...

Just installed these with RCE's yellows, it was cake to do with the right hand tools (the open center ratchets with a good allen key works wonders) - took awhile getting everything done but this is only my second go around with replacing springs on a car - wouldn't dream of just dropping it down on the strut to compress, knowing my luck I'd end up popping something through the fender!

Are you having any popping issues with the whiteline mounts?

Aftwr 30 miles or so of shakedown the car is solid, no unwanted/unexpected noises. Double checked the mounts were with the newer bushings too.

I had same problem with mine after just one day of a track event. Before that event, no noise happened. After installing stock top hats again, the clunking noise is gone. SAD......

Damn it.... I guess I'll just get rid of mine before I install them. I don't want to have to deal with this issue on my car. Can someone tag whiteline in this thread and maybe they can chime in on what they are doing about this?

Spoke too soon it seems, I have a popping sound when leaving the driveway that it wasnt doing yesterday. Looked over some of the trouble shooting mentioned here and elsewhere, seeing some deflection under load. Product was from 5/2/13, emailed Jan, waiting on what he has to say to check.

so weird. I wonder if these will never work with the frs. The frs has more suspension travel then the imprezzas do. maybe we need more rubber for when these things are full turned.

My new ones came in today. They came in a different box then last time. Had the new bearings but no dust caps. Also no return tracking slip either.

Got the new replacement ones on last night. So far everything is good. Going to be leaving work and doing a little back road driving to see if something happens.

I've been dealing with Daniel at Whiteline USA, and he's been very helpful. I'm on my second set of mounts now and one of them is popping and clanging sometimes. I've got the Subaru washers that you're supposed to use as well. He's going to send me another mount when they get more stock in. I'm starting to lose faith here, but he did say that their own car runs V3's with these mounts trouble free.

Could you post a link to where it says that we're supposed to use those washers?
