Apparently though, Canadians won't be getting this touchscreen-- even though it was advertised for our market as well, and is supposed to be the new standard unit on all 2014 models. Still a lot of ambiguity. This is the one used over seas and is referred to as "Touch" (base unit) or "Touch and Go" (Nav)

ps. $845 is an INSANE price for BeSpoke (or as I call it BeSlow) when you consider that in order to enable the MAP button and navigation function the unit is simply reflashed/reprogrammed to enable that. It is not a separate unit being installed.

I checked scion.ca and I don't see it mentioning the inclusion of a 6.1" touchscreen like scion.com so you may be right. That is terrible.

Yeah I'm not paying that markup. I've heard bad things about BeSpoke as well so I'll take the advice of just using my iPhone + Bluetooth so the audio is routed through the car's speakers. Plus there's a USB port fairly close by so it'll be easy to keep it charged.

Say wha?

When I put down my deposit for a 10 series I took a test drive in a MY13 FR-S. Once we got back the dealer showed me the new Pioneer 300w H/U with the 6.1'' touchscreen that was installed in a new TC and explained it was the model that would come stock in the 10RS (as well as the MY14 FR-S).

I could swear that the new Pioneer H/U was listed as a component of the 10 Series FR-S for Canada following the announcement. I bet it has been disapeared, just like the glowy shift knob was. Damn.

Maybe they left the neutered MAP button to tempt you into the GPS upgrade. Not sure if it's a reflash or the GPS accessory module shown on the Pioneer site for $400 though:

True-- it could be a module, but still-- the stock head unit remains unchanged (same screen, buttons etc.) and certainly doesn't necessitate an $800 price difference! (I'm still digesting that) $400 seems more appropriate but then again... we are still talking BeSlow here.... hahahaha

I'll be much happier when people start posting pictures of their cars, and when dealers have VERIFIABLE information on this car. It seems to be a lot of: "I heard this..." or "Joey at the docks told me this..."

How stupid is it to NOT give Canadians the 6.1 touchscreen just because we don't do the BeSpoke thing here when the BeSpoke is an upgrade anyway? Makes no sense...

Like I've mentioned, I have "Pioneer Upgrade Audio at $0 charge" as one of two things listed on the Vehicle Options page when ordering. I was worried it was not listed on Scion.ca, but to me it sounds like it will be coming with the 5.8" touchscreen available as upgrade now. See below

Because if the 6.1" touchscreen you mentioned is going to come stock then it wouldn't be an "upgrade" lol. So I'm going to expect a 5.8" but will a happy bonus if it does come with a 6.1".

Note: I do not work for Scion, nor does my dealer know if its a 5.8 or 6.1 at this point, just that its not this 2013 stock POS. Hope this info helps

I was shown the Pioneer audio system and told it was part of the package, but have nothing to back this detail up on my deposit invoice. I am encouraged to hear you are still expecting a touch screen at the base price. I guess dealers in different provinces do things differently.

I'm beginning to think the 10 Series FR-S is the Unicorn of the automotive world. I've seen some pictures and heard stories, but do they really exist?

We saw it at Toyotafest in Long Beach, CA in May... but haven't seen one since. Yet. I'm sure they'll come through!

Just talked to my dealer. Seem my 10 series just left port from Japan. Hopefully I can get it around July 4th.

I put a deposit down in April, and TODAY my dealer finally called and said the 10 Series was on their allocation and that it would arrive in 60 days (so, first week of August). The dealer is in Riverdale, Utah. Any idea why Utah is getting them more than a month later than everyone else? Or is my sales guy just up in the night?
